update 8.1

I got the update today, i signed up for developer at windows:grin: I guess and it was available today.
since I was still getting used to windows along comes the update. start all over.:smile:
at the top of the front page there's what seen to be icon looking like an envelop ? what is that and how can i get rid of it.
whats in the update I see cortana calender is different I like that the other wasn't very good.
