Hello there I'm considering Lumia 925 for my next phone. May I have your suggestion please?

My current phone is Nokia Lumia 625H (stripped down version of 625 that lost LTE ). Yesterday I visited my local retailers and found some information.

    Nokia Lumia 925 cost 3.000.000 IDR (250$)
Nokia Lumia 730 have similar price but I wanted LTE not dual sim
    Nokia Lumia 930 cost 7.200.000 IDR (600$)
    Nokia Lumia 1020 cost 6.500.000 IDR (550$)
There's no clear information about 735 and 830.
635 isn't going to be found anywhere here
    Lumia 820 Cost 3.200.000 (255$) while 920 3.400.000 (260$)
My allowances as student is 35.000(3$) per day but I can manage somehow.

NCC located less than 3 miles from my home

The thing ia my carrier release LTE service in 8 December 2014 I love to get that speed because my college building is in the covered area and my data usage pretty high while at home I set up Wi-Fi network

So I need suggestions. For the money I can sold most of my unused spare hard disk and RAM (lot of it)

    Thanks in advance

If you look around, you'll find many threads regarding the 920/5 as phones today.

Personally I have a 920, which works quite well for me. (it doesn't scream anymore, but it doesn't need to. It's speedy enough, so I'm happy.)

I'd spring for a 925, unless the minor differences between the 920 and 925 are worth the relatively minor markup.
(for me, it'd be worth it, but you may not care)

Lumia 925 Still worth to buy?

    I'll say yes.
I have the 925 and to me it really does seem timeless.
My phone usually stays covered with an Incipio feather yet when I pop it out to show others they always say:
"Wow this thing is very elegant and thin...."

Seems like the chicks like how it looks uncovered.

Last time i sold my metal grey 925 and buy 730, but i lost the premium feel of 925... i regret it.
Then i switch again to 925, found same with your price Rp. 2.999.000 :) but white color.
925 is still worth, great camera, best value and full experience of windows phone.

I've had mine for a year now and I still love it. I wasn't even a smartphone person, but this phone has made me one. I'll have the oppurtunity to upgrade in a few months, but there isn't really anything out there that I want. My only regret which I didn't consider at the time of purchase is the storage is not expandable via sd card. But I just bought a 530 to handle that issue. That one will strictly be for music and a back up in case something were to happen to my 925.

L925 is a good phone, I have one.
But to keep up in the future, I'd go for the L830.
L925 is like the first L920, but thinner+lighter and only 16 Gb of storage.

I think it's the best option you can have right now if you are in a rush, but anyway you should save a bit of more money and buy a L930 or L830, they are updated with the top techs of the Windows Phone System right now -or at least, part of it in the case of 830- and this will grant you access to future and complete features of the phone and OS. Lumia 925 it's yet a great phone and like the other user commented "it has a premium sensation".

It seems the indonesian version of 925 doesnt support lte. Maybe u need to check this first to ncc before u buy it.
Or u can get a 2 days used of 1520 (white) for 4.000.000 (nego) in kaskus fjb
I personally using 1520 and although it bigger than my first thought, now im really happy with it ^^

Yes. It's still a great piece of kit and if you can get one at a good price as I did today, (unlocked and PERFECT for 80 uk) then you can't go wrong. Even when it becomes out-dated by any future incompatible OS upgrade, I can still sell easily.

To date, it's still the most premium looking Lumia there is, and it's pretty much on a par with the 830 in speed comparisons. Oh, and the screen. Wow!

I am looking to buy Nokia lumia series because i find the HAAC microphone they have. I am wondering where did you get that price (3.000.000 IDR) is it for new or used one?

well looking at all these lumias phone, i know that 925 has the appearance and the performance. The plastic back is not that bad, but why not using a good looking device if you can? =p

No, it's not worth buying. The camera is terrible, outdoor pictures taken bwith my 620 are way better. The blurry yellow tint kills the cam.

I have an 625/635/925/930 and the 925 only fall behind the 930 (faster, best camera, best battery) but is way ahead of the 625/635.

Myself and 3 people I am close to have all been impressed with the great pictures the 925 takes (they all have one). When I was with family Christmas 2013 I was the one they wanted to take pictures with my phone because it was "so much better" than theirs (all cheaper Androids). The 925 was one of the best Nokia phones I've used. Yes, it's a damn good phone still worth to buy.

Would say the 920 is arguably better for several reasons. However, the 925 is not crippled on T-Mobile, and I paid relatively little for it.
Definitely miss the 920, but that feeling fades when I could at the AMOLED panel.

    Several ?

32GB storage is better, I'l give 920 that.
    But 33% heavier (185 g vs. 139 g) and 25% thicker (10,7 mm vs. 8,5 mm) L920 is a brick.
Good thing about that is, that you certainly notice, when you don't have it on you. It's hard to
    forget anywhere ;)

As a phone, both are good. But would I pay the $250 retail price the OP quoted ? No way.
The best solution for the OP would probably be a second hand 920 for a $100(?) and wait
until the WP10 release with new devices come available to the market.

Here are the specs from the MS web page. Never mind the prices, they are not within reason for the
    obsolete 920&925.

I have a 925 (My favourite phone ever) which I intended replacing with an 830. 5" screen, quad core, Glance screen, expandable memory, Qi wireless charging - what's not to like I thought.

So I bought an 830 in December, after 2 days I was more than happy to return to my 925. Due to OS limitations I knew I'd have to use 3 throws of mid size tiles on the start screen but I couldn't get used to it. The screen is probably very good but in comparison to the AMOLED of the 925 it's poor. The lovely deep blacks on the 925 are grey in comparison, the glance screen is also greyer which means the text on it isn't as stand out. Small points maybe but I was glad to be rocking my 925 again (Especially after I modded it, see below)

The 930 is ruled out for me due to not having Glance capability.

A great feature on the 830 is Qi wireless charging, fantastic. I broke a 925 wireless charging clip on shell down and removed the charger, then I mounted it on the inside of my 925s back cover ... one wireless charging 925. A cheap and relatively easy mod to carry out.

I will not replce my L925 with a L830 or L930, I'm trying to manage with the limited 16GB storage
until a real upgrade is available.

But if I would be upgrading ie. from a L620 I would go for the L830.
The L930 is a Eflop, expensive without glance screen and no sd-card slot.
What were they thinking at MS, releasing it crippled like that ?

There's plenty of models at the lower section, and a L930 with glance and a sd-card would
probably have been satisfying enough while waiting for a real Flagship. Now the time gap
is too long with all the nice new droids flowing to the market.
