I have a Nokia Lumia 635 AT&T variant and I like it but no flash, glance and double tap to wake is a deal breaker for me so I am wondering is it worth buying the Nokia Lumia 925?

Your best choice would be a Lumia 830. But, if you're looking for a less expensive option, the Lumia 925 is perfect. It has AMOLED screen with Glance support (930's AMOLED is not Glance capable). You can also check the Lumia 820, which is even cheaper than 925 and it has basically the same innards.

As long as you do not update to 8.1 it is ok. MS is still working, I hope, to the freezing issue affecting 925 and 1020 on 8.1

Gotcha. Which variants is this problem common to? I can settle for an unlocked Nokia Lumia 620 though its a slight downgrade.

Is the AMOLED Display really good? Also how long does the battery last?

The AMOLED screen is beautiful and sharp with vivid colors. Battery life is great I get 24 hours with moderate/high usage (Bluetooth, talking for about 2 hours a day, texting, & web browsing). The 8.1 update really improved battery life. I love my 925 T-Mobile USA variant.

Good enough I also have a 930 and if I compare them side by side the 930 wins. But the 925 is certainly not bad.
About battery I can not really say something because I charge it with a QI . I have several qi chargers also one in my car so it "always" is topped off.

That's cool. I'll definitely consider purchasing one from eBay once I sell my iPhone 5C. It's a better fit as I wanted the Nokia Lumia 1320 but the size looks more cumbersome as I mainly use Windows Phones for mainly calls, texts and a little bit of web surfing

just make sure you don't update to 8.1 just yet, not even Cyan. Most 925 and 1020 users reported freezing while in standby, or reboots.

I would say it also depends on whether you are buying your next device outright or through subsidized contract.

My 925 have cyan and it's on P4D with the latest update and never had any issues. The cmera is great and the screen is vivid and sharp and lets face it the design of the 925 is gorgeous.
But if you can afford The 930 don't think twice

Same here. I was considering moving to a 930, but seeing all the bugs it has vs the almost-no-bug on my 925, I think I will stay with my 925 until something decent comes from MS.

The Lumia 925 is a solid choice. I ordered a 920 from amazon at a good price (Less than $150). Before buying this I was thinking of getting a 620 but I found that there were just as many features as compromises. The 620 has a smaller screen (only 3.8"), no FM Radio and a slower processor and no Corning Gorilla Glass as well as no LTE. I would say the only problem with a 920/925 would be the lack of an SD Card slot which is present on the 635. If you are trying to decide between the Lumia 920 and 925, the following differences must be noted.

Lumia 925 over 920- Much lighter and thinner, aluminum body, and an extra optical lens (6 Lenses vs 5 on the 920)
Lumia 920 over 925- 32 GB of storage versus 16 GB.

I almost chose the 925 due to the sleeker appearance and slightly better camera but considering that I will not be able to expand the internal storage I went for a 920 for the 32 GB of storage.

Keep on reading about the freezing issues. I've had my 925 on 3UK since May this year. Updated to 8.1 in August. Never had any issues with the phone at all. Love it.

Sure it is, as long as you want glance, a great camera, descent battery life, great looking design. It will always be worth buying if you have something that's not as good. But if you do, make sure its new. The battery in used ones won't give you good battery life, or replace it if you do.

No, I don't hav any problem at all with my 930 and the 925 heats a lot more than the 930

I've had the white Lumia 925 on T-Mobile since last July (or whenever the past low price deals showed up).
Got it brand new thru NewEgg flash for $229.00 usd.

Had a few self installed problems with the developer preview.
My 925 has finally settled into a state of excellent function now that Cyan is on it.

I'm not sooper happy with Lumia camera on the 925.
Alternatives for the camera are working well for me however.

The 925 is still a great phone I think it has a timeless design.
Others I know who pay attention to hardware always comment on the looks.

Have to agree with everyone. Nokia took a phone that could have been a knockout and hampered it with no SD slot, only 16GB of memory, etc. Microsoft should take this phone, put a 8XX processor, up the memory to 32 GB, slip a SD slot into it and upgrade the camera a bit, increase the screen to 5" and keep the price the same as the 925. They would sell them alot more than the 830. But alast it aint going to happen. My wife loves her 925, and I love my 820, and what is out there now does not make me want to SIDEGRADE. Only knows what the future holds for us WP users.

There have been a few with this issue, I for one have never had this issue and I use my phone for 8+ hours a day.
