xenon flash looks fake too me….
looks like photoshopped lumia 810,920 n 8x….
also the plate behind the camera reads “Pureview” I doubt why does’nt 920 has this!

Many people wont like this branding to 928 rather than 920!

Lets wait a few days and know whats cooking ;)

The reason behind 920s weight is the polycarbonate housing + OIS + the material used ( what other OEMs use is cheap n non durable)

My 8X was at 65% after 15 hours yesterday. Took it off the charge at 8AM, laid it on the pad at 11PM. Weather Flow syncing every hour, WPCentral, Weave and Engadget all syncing at whatever stock interval, Gmail and Hotmail set to push.

Anyway, I really want this phone. I wanted a Nokia but I really hate the 822 and I think the 920/900 are huge and ugly. This appears to be a slightly bigger, high end version of the 720, which is fine with me.
EDIT: Just did an image search for the 720. The back contour looks exactly the same. Stoked for this!

Hopefully VZW launches the Nokia Qi car charger at the same time.

I wish my 8X got close to that in battery life. Mine is usually good for around eight hours. I tend to use it a lot though. I've never had a smartphone do much better so I'm OK with it.

If the 928 full retail price is the same as the 920 I'll probably try to get it off contract. I seriously doubt Verizon will sell the 928 as cheap as the 920 is being sold though.

Yay! Now for a release date.... I tried a HTC 8x before returning it for an iPhone 5... I loved it, but battery life was a deal killer. Trying a Blackberry Z10 now and hoping this is released before my 30 Day return policy is up. If so, the BB might be going back. :)

What don't you like about the Z10?

I think OLED is more saturated but less natural. while LCD is more natural then Saturated

Oh. :/ I hope the OLED part isn't true then, has I like my displays to be has accurate has possible (though, I doubt it will be has saturated has the GS4's green screen).

I hope it stays true to the Lumia 920's color acuraccy. Or get's closer to the HTC one's/Xperia Z's.

Or maybe this will finally become available at some point, and then you can correct it yourself: A forthcoming Nokia update will allow Lumia 920 users to change their display colors for the first time | Windows Phone Central

3 options:
1) fake
2) different exterior in order to keep final design secret whilst allowing public testing
3) not the 928

Pretty much everything EvLeaks has posted is true. Sometimes it isn't 100% what it is, as it isn't a picture of the phone, but it is pretty much what the phone is. Name one EvLeaks for WP recently that has been false.

phone designer on facebook has posted some photo's of what he thinks the 928 will look like.. either that, or nokia hired him after seeing his previous work because he had these renders out within 12 hours of evleaks post

NOTE: I am not saying these are leaks. This guy makes renders of windows phones all the time. Just thought it was interesting to look at.

I like it! it copied the 8x design but then again, the htc copied nokia in the first place

Err.. no.

HTC ripped off the Lankku design language, which was first shown on the Nokia N9 back in June of 2011. All the other Nokia phones that came from it were: 800, 900, 920.. and one HTC 8x.

So, this is based on Nokia's own design, nothing to do with the 8x at all.

hence the "htc copied nokia in the first place"

Yes, but because the N9 didn't get much media coverage, few people would know..

The Lankku design won several design awards, including the prestigious D&AD Yellow Pencil design award

Professional Awards

Most of the Lumias are all based on that design. You can't really blame HTC for taking a close look at it... if you are going to do that, you copy from the best. It took them a while, but they got it.

I am not saying the 8X is identical, but the fundamental design is obviously Lankku inspired. Even the machined holes for the speakers... the N9 had them first, now HTC are using them quite a bit.. also Apple with the iPhone 5.

Nokia's investment in that design was significant.. and, back then I didn't realize it, but they were planning a whole range based on it.

evleaks have never been wrong when it comes to a Nokia device so far, at least that I remember. So.. ya, that's it.. or very close to it.

agreed on the evleaks ...leak :) that twitter account has been reliable on the leaks.
I think what someone was saying when they mentioned "fake" up above, was that the image of the lady holding that white device with the camera in the corner...which is not the same as the evleaks render.
So the question remains - what was that?

Also, I am still having a tough time seeing the flat sides that were shown in the FCC filing, in the evleaks render. Am i missing something here?
The drawings for FCC have to be pretty accurate as they are official filings...

@paulo1300 thanks for telling about the Lumia 928 renders by PhoneDesigner on FB... i saw his page last week linked from other sites... he does some AMAZING work... Nokia should be hiring this guy right now...
Still not sure about the straight edges... the FB renders have them incorporated and it looks great, but the evleaks render dont seem to show it...hard to tell.

yes i agree, it does not show the straight edges in the press shot at all.
It definitely seems like Phone Designer made these based upon the Press Shot and the FCC filing. It is basically a combination of the two. The front and back look like the press shot, but the edges look like the FCC filing. I am thinking the actual phone will look pretty similar to those pictures.

yep, if you look at the Lumia 920 filing for the same end on shot and compare it to the 928, they are significantly different in profile.
I quite liked the 920 feel and i think i will like the 928 too :)

Something i just noticed, the 920 shot is of the top of the phone, but the 928 is of the bottom...but where is the space for the USB connection on the 928?
