Re: Pictures/Videos taken with your 928!

folks would you mind posting what camera software and any special settings you might be using with your pics, if it isn't too much trouble?

I believe most of mine were using the default camera with flash forced off. One or two might have been ProShot, but honestly even ProShot needs to give me more control. For example it forces a particular shutter speed when you use the flash, which buggers up trying to use it for backlit situations in manual mode, since we can't adjust aperture.

Here are few more from me. These are a combination of ProShot and the native app. I did run the photo's through Lightroom to watermark them but that was all. No other processing was done.

The sky does get noisy as a couple others pointed out. The sunset shots are not too bad and when the saturation is turned up a little, the camera gave it some wow factor. We joked about how the camera made things look better than real life. Overall I think the camera does a good job. I did print a couple of 5x7's off as an experiment and thought they came out pretty good. Certainly not DSLR quality but probably accpetable for most consumers as long as you don't go too big of a print.

All default camera app, auto settings, ISO set to 100. First one taken with flash (I liked the darker image with flash for this one).

Here are a couple from my trip to the Oregon Coast.

I love the camera on the Lumia, perfect for quick snap shots. It will never replace my DSLR though, as much as some people want it to. Pictures below, taken with canon 7D, for reference.

Thanks for posting the 7D pics as well freddyfromutah.

Those are amazing pictures. I have a 5D MKII that I'm never carrying around, but yeah, the phone is definitely not going to compare. That being said, what I do love about the L928 is that it does such a good job with color reproduction. Even comparing your beach sunset pics with the L928 and 7D, I am totally pleased with the colors the L928 displays. Best I've personally experienced with a phone in that regard.

Yep! I have a 40D and a 50D that I use for "wall hangers".

I am still surprised at the quality of the camera though. If I take a photo from my camera and run it through my normal lightroom process, the results are pretty stunning.

I rely on my photography to provide for my family, so I look at the camera a bit differently, but you can't argue with that. For people who want a camera that will take great pictures to share with family / friends, or even to make some nice prints, the lumia 928 is perfect.

Yeah... No way will the 928 replace my 50D, but it sure is nice to have something that is on you all the time that takes pictures as good as it does.

Re: Pictures/Videos taken with your 928!

Can anyone explain the drastic difference in colors between the two apps. Stock app is closer to real life colors. Am not sure what I have set incorrectly in the Pro Shot app.

Stock Camera App:

Pro Shot App:
