App updates question

Hey everyone, I just got my first Windows phone after a great deal of experience with various android devices. I love it so far but I have a beginners question. How the heck do I know when I have apps that have updates available? On more than one occasion I have stumbled across an app in the store that I already have installed, only to discover that there is an update available for it that I have not been notified of. Is this normal? Sometimes I have been notified of updates, but it is at best 50/50 whether or not I get notified. Is this a known problem, or am I missing something? Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.....Ryano89

Unfortunately this is a known problem but should be fixed in the next update
