822 faster than 928?

I went to the Verizon store a couple days ago and while I was waiting for the rep I played with the 822 for a bit.

I instantly noticed how much more responsive and faster the 822 was over my 928. The touchscreen just responded quicker to my touch and everything scrolled faster and smoother.

This has always been my beef with the 928 since I've had it. It seems when you flick the screen to scroll, it doesn't go very far.

Does anyone think we are just a software update away from fixing this or might it be a hardware issue?

Thanks!

Updates will fix that. Same thing happened with my 920 as I thought the scroll was less smooth than my 900. After the update, smooth as ice.

I don't have a 822 but when i tried the 928 in the store ,I had the exact feeling. The scrolling didn't feel fast/smooth.I was told that the sensitivity could be changed in settings? If its an update that it needs..then shame on nokia for releasing the phone when they knew that the 822 had a similar issue.I ordered a 928 to give it a try.

The processing power between the 2 are the same right? I suspect the lower screen resolution of the 822 allows for faster performance.

The 928 has a frame or two lag. Phonedog complains of this when typing, how it can't keep up as well as his 920. Should be a simple fix!

Ditto here, I used a lumia 720 for 8 month and still have it. The Lumia 720 scrolls a lot faster and it has less processing and memory, but also less resolution. But I wonder if it has to do with super amoled having touch built into the screen.?

That is exactly right...
I remember the same issues, in the Windows Mobile days, when the switch from 240x320 to 480x640 happened.
The screen resolution doubled, but the CPU only went from like 400mh to 528mh (not an equal increase).
My lower-res phones always performed better than the fancy-shmancy ones.

Having had both, I wouldn't go back to the 822. The screen resolution, the xenon flash and the camera are definitely better. I surely miss the SD card slot, though... Bring on the Lumia Icon...
