verizon.net email on Lumia 928

I recently bought a Lumia 928 on VZW. I cannot figure out how to sync my @verizon.net email account with the phone. Right now I have it forwarded through my Gmail account but Google filters some emails that are not spam so I miss them. I have tried calling in to no avail and going to the store. It seems pretty straight forward but it just doesn't work. Is it possible? and if so what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply Laura but there is no WP8 support on the site at all. Been there done that unfortunately.

When I setup my verizon email, I selected other account under add an account. I then entered my email address and password and that was it. It sets everything up automatically at that point.
