I have a HTC 8X currently that I have been happy with, but my Mom needs a phone and she thinks she is wanting to finally go the way of the smart phone, so I'm gonna give her my 8X and I was able to order the L928 free. Its supposed to arrive tomorrow. Now at least I will be able to get the Nokia apps. Not sure what else is different between the 2 devices. I need to look at a comparison of them. Will be my first Lumia. ;-)

Be careful, keep the receipts close by. 928s are notorious for having problems

edit: If the phone ends up having issues, you may be better served waiting for the 929 which is supposed to release is 2 weeks

Firstly, several people have flaw free NL928's. So OP should be no more careful in purchasing and inspecting the NL928 than any other phone. Second, we really don't know when the NL929 will be out. Could be two weeks, could be two months, could be another half a year. No clue.

That's great news! I'm hoping some of the newer batches are less problem-prone. I love the 928 and the features it has, but I've noticed that the 928 bugs thread is twice as large as the 925 thread, even though the 925 is a global model with a significantly bigger user base. Same with the 920s and 1020s. I just think it's in the OP's best interest to be wary. My gf bought a 928 under my recommendation, and she curses me for it every day that it freezes or the touch screen becomes unresponsive. I just hope people inspect the phone throughout and use it before they get stuck in a 2 year contract with a bad phone.

Yeah I have complete coverage for the 928, and of course I have the 2 week period to see how it goes too. Hopefully I won't end up with a buggy one.

My 928 has been flaw free as well, and I've had it since launch day. It's an awesome phone, some things you will notice (since I too came from the 8x) much larger, much heavier, Nokia apps are cool, camera is incredible, speaker is much louder, Beats Audio will be greatly missed. Those are the big things I noticed!

Just as every other phone is notorious for having problems if you live in the forums dedicated to that particular phone. 928 is no worse.

I've gotten about 6 928's for users at work and they have been pretty much trouble free. A few freezes but not that many and no one really complains about it. The quality of the phone , in general, is great. I think gdr3 improves the phone a lot. Look at the reviews on Verizon and you will see that vast majority of people love the phone, Why tell someone who just order the phone that there are lots of problems because that's just not true.,

Congrats! I've had mine about 2 weeks now. No issues here besides a random reboot about once a week. Happened on my previous 920 so I think it's just a design flaw in the Lumias. Others have reported the same thing. Also don't forget to sign up for your $20 in free app money. World of Apps - Nokia - USA

Ok, got my lovely 928 all set up and I am blown away. Never thought I could like a phone much more than my 8X, but I REALLY do! The feel, screen, apps, just everything is fantastic. No issues so far so hopefully I got a good one. Signed up for my free apps voucher too, that will be awesome. ;-)
