Re: does the 928 as of 2015 work on Att??

Has anybody tested this and had any other issues other than no LTE , I just recently broke my 925 and want sumthing new...ive already had the 920, and the 830 or even the 735 is affordable off contract.... and I'm not paying for any of those budget phones that don't have pureview, ois, clearblack, or hd recording, etc.... my budget is around the $100 mark, and the 900 series phones were the best I cud find......

I know the Icon won't receive MMS on AT&T. You can send, but it receive. I have no idea about the 928, but I'd be interested to know as well.

For 100 bucks you can get a Samsung Ativ if you're looking for options. If not then a used 920 or 925 would be your best bet for 100 bucks. And yes, both work just fine on Cricket

I may get a 928 in towards the end of next week. If I can get one, maybe I'll test it with my AT&T sim card.

It's got much of the same hardware as a 920, though it's amoled instead of IPS. I like the 920 screen better, but the 920 is a little heavy and chunky.

Panka is correct though, in that you can get a 920 for $100 pretty easily. In my book, I can't imagine a better phone for that price.

If you can get a 920 or 1020 or 925, yeah sure, will work no matter what.

If you get an Icon or 928, being Verizon, the only MVNO that will work, everything, SMS and MMS and Internet, will be Net10/StraightTalk. Speeds won't be LTE but IMO, who cares, it will work. I tested this last year. Haven't tested since, but if you use any other GSM carrier, only thing that won't work is receive MMS, even with the Denim update. I hate the Verizon hardware and the complication it adds to these great devices.

This will be my first post, and hopefully a helpful one!

Yes, the 928 works on ATT as of 2015. I'm currently using a 928 on ATT, and as outline by other users, lack the ability of getting MMS and LTE. Otherwise I have no issues with internet, SMS, calling, updates and such. Being that I'm in a major city, I'm typically on the HSPA+ or 3G network, which is plenty fast.

Want to chime in -- have my 928 on GoPhone, on the 10?/min plan. No data, selecting 3G works fine for tower choice, (choosing LTE really doesn't), and both SMS and MMS send/receive works.

Glad I found this thread. My contract is up on Verizon in April and was planning on bringing my 928 to them but looks like Id be better off finding a 925 or 1020. I looked at the WP that cricket had but they were all less that 1gb of ram which is a deal breaker fir me.

I should clarify that my plan doesn't have data. But voice, SMS, and MMS (including pictures) do work fine.
