Actually, I'm still very much interested. I honestly don't see Kinect-like movements becoming the new industry standard because of the McLaren. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong.

Also McLaren seems to be a 1020 successor, meaning camera bump and, while I like good photos, I prefer less good photos to added thickness to a device. Again, if McLaren is a 1020 successor, it's still going to be a niche phone, meaning many will pass it.

Will I wait until November and in November wait again until April because I was not expecting another niche device? No way!
And not to mention that with a camera hump, it's likely there won't be built-in wireless charging.

A phone this good deserved something better than the worst launch process in the hole Nokia history.

Maybe we should give the nickname "Duke Nukem 3D Handy" to the Lumia 930... cause it's done when it's done... :P

According to this source. Lumia 930 will be available with German retailers on 15th of May. This is indeed a good news for all those who are eagerly waiting for Lumia 930. But how is it possible for something that is scheduled to be release is June will be available 15 days earlier?

If 930 is available by June. It could mean first week or even last week of June. So do we have to wait till July for its availability in Asia?
    May is already gone....

    ^This.
    Makes me sad man :(
Guess I'll just have to upgrade to the 1020 on Saturday.
Then you just watch how the 930 gets released globally on the following day as my luck would have it.

Let's hope the meeting of Orange will provide some more information. It looks like SFR is already sold out on the pre sales.

I know I will but I also don't want to wait too long, coz the 1020 is still great.
Nokia South Africa doesn't even have the Lumia 930 on their site, and they only got the 630 on their site this month.

As far as I can remember SA is on the 2nd or 3rd availability wave of the 930...

Either that or SFR have realised they wont be getting them until July like every one else ;) Im leaning more towards the fact it wont be out until July

Telia (telco in Denmark) has opened up fo pre-order. They list the expected delivery date as week 28 (w/c 7th of July) - not sure if Denmark is supposed to be in the first wave or not. A free Fatboy wireless charger is included while stocks last.

wp choices in norway before 930 is available:
925 is the normal sized flagship. this now old phone has approx the same specs as my htc 8x which is even 6 months older. 1320/1520 is too big for me, and I want a bigger screen than the 1020 (and I suspect the camera is a bit slow?).

agree with those before me here that thrashes the launch of this phone.

if I want a wp alternative to z2, galaxy s5, lg and all those androids with the newest technology and a 5 inch screen I have: NONE. frustrating!

Well, good luck to people waiting for the "McLaren". At the moment, it is just a rumour. The 930 is an actual announced device (albeit not even a new device) which was announced months ago and we still can't even pre-order it yet. Imagine when we will be actually able to buy "McLaren" in the shops!
There's no way I see Microsoft letting the holiday season go by without releasing a flagship device. Just won't happen. 2012 it was the 920, last holiday it was the 1520. Though they generally don't do a very good job with availability immediately after announcement, the 930's extended delay is more of an exception than the rule.

If you frequent this forum, then you're probably the gadget-enthusiast type (like myself) that will probably get a phone 6 months after just buying one if you like it enough anyway. But if you're already on the fence about the 930, you might want to wait.

I was on the fence about it and went with a pentaband 1520 on T-Mobile instead. If I like the McLaren enough, I'll sell my 1520 and get that, because #YOLO, as well as #TurnUp and #ThugLife.

It was announced at the beginning of April. Its essentially a Nokia Lumia Icon. Yet for some reason 3 months later there's no release date. All carriers are telling me they have no information except 'coming soon'. What is the hold up in releasing it? I mean I know it will have different release times for different regions but I currently have no phone because my contract has ended and I thought this phone would be out now. VERY FRUSTRATED.

Bacause it will not change anything. If they don't release it it's probably because they can't and not because they don't want.

There is nothing we can do to make them release it faster.

That doesn't mean we have to remain quiet and wait... There is something that we can do, which is forcing Nokia to give us more information.

That's what pisses me off! I get that they aren't ready to release it but why can't just they give us some objective information on what's going on? THAT has no excuse!!

I agree with you they should come with more information about it. But as of last night things are changing in France.

SFR took the pre command option offline.
Nokia France published the networks and stores online where to buy the Lumia 930
Not sure what to make of this but this is one of the stores showing a pack deal headset, wireless charger and speaker.
But probably more important Nokia France responded yesterday that the availability information is coming on a very short notice.

I still think that the launch will be tomorrow in France or maybe it just wishful thinking. :-)

See that could go with the release date that was on the SFR website. Fingers crossed, we shall see tomorrow.

Also this site is stating 28th June!

Could be but I have seen that before. Telco's go before other stores.
Just now Orange and others have added the Nokia 635 to the store. Delivery within 3 day's.

    Wee see. :-)

On a swiss newssite, 20min.ch, there is currently a daily game where random people in the street must do sometimes impossible things and get a green Lumia 930 as prize if the manage to do it. 20 Minuten Online Videoportal - Pendlergame Folge 8 Phone is seen at 03:25

Always asked myself where they got the phone from...

Bleh 2nd wave would already be too long a wait, I'll just go get my 1020 or 1520 this weekend then. But I'm thinking give it one more weekend of wait.
