The difference is HUGE between Denim and Cyan. New Lumia Camera with Denim take much better and crisp pictures than never.

    Both on automatic:

I can confirm everything Rodrigo said in a sense. I have takan ALOT of pictures with CYAN then after Denim it just takes the pictures to a another level and not only in speed. But the biggest change for me was the Low light pictures , which are much much sharper in "automode" and with better colors . Also with my settings which I use in low light conditions the pictures have never looked better .

Yes, for sure! Today I could prove it and I will upload some pictures as soon I can. JPEG pictures are now perfect, I don't need to use DNG anymore!

Also yes for souvenir from KL! It was given by my sister. Very beautiful gift! She loved the city!

And here you see the effect of personal opinion stated as fact...

The pictures in Denim are not perfect. Yeah, the camera is faster and Rich Capture is nice, but mostly they just adjusted the processing to add more contrast and saturation. Dark areas which still contained detail on Cyan now lose information on Denim for example.

For the best results you will still need to take the RAW and post process to your liking.

DNG is a raw format. DNG need treatment.

On Cyan the color accuracy was pathetic and treatment was ridiculous, specially on low light pics. The difference to DNG was HUGE. But not now. The JPEG now on Denim is VERY CLOSE to DNG pictures, with great color accuracy (the most important thing), and better in most of cases!

But of course you can have better results on DNG. But without any treatment I doubt it.

I need to increase contrast levels and make other changes on Lightroom in every DNG I have. Every! So that's exactly what Denim does to us, not a perfect picture, but a good job and a good compression. Of course sometimes will looks exaggerated, it is a automatic alghoritm. It will never do the same job than us.

And that's the right thing to do on a point and shoot camera. That's what people want, a good picture to share. Not a raw one.

I'll probably keep using the DNG format because I love treat them on Lightroom. I can get the perfect image for my personal taste. But the JPEG results are incredible for now.

So let's take it back to topic subject. Some pictures from yesterday!

You can try to argue your personal preference in how a picture should look all you want. I believe it has been established in several threads that you like to throw photography terms around even though you don't fully understand them, so I will just go ahead an ignore that.

I'm just saying that a post-processing algorithm that loses a bunch of information compared to the previous one is not necessarily an improvement. And you shouldn't tell people that pictures are now perfect, just because they match your preference ;). I think that the algorithm in Denim/Lumia Camera will be an improvement for some. For others it might be a disappointment.

Again, you have 0 argument. There's nothing to do with personal taste or anything like that. Denim is better and there's nothing to discuss about this since There's a lot of comparison to prove it around this forum and all over internet.

Try to prove your pathetic point or just stop talking crap.

Morning glory. Took this on a skiing trip 2 days ago. Took over 200 pictures all DNG format . Not sure if it's just me but I have edited over 100 pictures with raw cyan. With Denim I feel like I have even more control over the colors and the pictures are much better , specally with DNG abs love it.

I don't have to proof anything, you already backed up my point with your pictures of that souvenir. Take a look at the glass jug/vase or whatever it is. The Cyan/Camera Classic picture has a lot more visible detail in the shadows, where the Denim/Lumia Camera version has bumped up the contrast and will clip the shadows in a bunch of situations. It's visible in the tortoise/turtle shell on the souvenir itself as well.

Now, you may call it better because you personally like contrasty pictures. I don't think it's better, because you lose useful detail and dynamic range just to make the image pop for the mass consumer. It's not really the way to go on a Pureview product in my opinion.

Not the greatest picture or anything. Just tried the 4k moment capture and choose the best frame from the video I made last night. Was quite satisfied with the results in low light even I could get better with just regular settings ofcourse.

Yeah, the Moment Capture/Lumia Moments app works great for stuff like fireworks. I posted a shot in the Denim topic as well. I was able to get some awesome and spectacular shots by just shooting video for a while and picking my frames. The quality is more than decent.

Yes is taken with 930/Denim . It's not even the full res version . I seem only be able to upload a 1.5mb file, the orginal is about 10mb. I do all my editing in Lightroom/photoshop. Note that now with Denim I think that even you don't take in raw the images are really great but the big diffrence is when you take pictures with DNG then it gives you a much greater capabilites with your editing options with colors, exposures etc.
