I've owned the 1520 since its release and now running WP8.1 dev..

I've been reading around about the 930 and curious if it's any better than my 1520 and worth the upgrade. Unfortunately I didn't get a clear answer so here I am asking for help

-What does the 930 have that's better than 1520? (other than wireless charging)
-What does the 930 lack compared to 1520?
-Is the camera performance going to be better on 930?

Basically what I dislike about my 1520:
-large size. I couldn't get used to it since I don't have large hands, and prefer to type with one hand
-disappointing camera performance. I owned a 920 and feel I didn't really upgrade
-very sensitive touch screen. Though could be a software matter.
-annoying heat when being used for a while

Thanks in advance!

The biggest difference between 930 and 1520 is the screen size, probably 930 will fit better in your hand.
I do own a 1520 as well, but I'd prefer to upgrade it to the Cityman (another rumored phablet).

The 930 lacks an SD card slot and also Glance; otherwise they are pretty much the same phone. The issues you described with the touch screen, camera, and heat are likely firmware related and should be resolved with Lumia Cyan is released for the 1520 and your carrier later this summer. The only reason why you might consider switching is for the smaller size. This assumes that the 930 is even available on your carrier. Both phones support wireless charging but it is removed from the AT&T version of the 1520.

My ans. is 1520 is best better.
Currently 1520 is high end device in the market & its really great piece.
My suggestion is you can wait for the Firmware update. (OFFICIAL 8.1).
& for photography you can try Nokia Camera BETA version but firmware update would be more good performance.

1520 has a LCD screen
930 have a Amoled LED screen
But the Windows is not a good on Amoled screen.

520, 620, 920 are totally useless devices but peoples don't understand that thing.

Read here more details about the 1520 over other WP device.

I suggest waiting for the firmware update. The 1520 and 930 are identical bar the size and sd card - both of which the 930 lack. Honestly, if you're ok with the size you have the best wp phone, and one of the best phones full stop.

Wait for the firmware update and see what comes out later this year.

I have both. Lumia 1520 and now 930. Biggest different is battery life time !!!

1% of battery on Lumia 1520 = 4,33min
1% of battery on Lumia 930 = 2min - ****!!!!
Video playback 3,3hour vs. 7,21hour on lumia 1520.

2nd different, but not problem is MicroSD card.

I will sell 930 and go back to 1520.

@dubai911, if you have a 1520, count your blessings, there's no additional value in getting a 930. The 1520 has everything I wanted in the 930 (and I've just ordered the 930 incidentally). The larger battery, SD-card, IPS LCD screen which has display memory for 'Glance'. Use them all to your advantage and enjoy.

They share the same camera, processor, RAM and sensors. The 930 will only come with newer and marginally advanced firmware. I admit that the screen size of the 1520 takes a little getting used to but I'd make the most of it if I were you. You get that additional 5th icon for Quick Actions in the Notification Centre, your games will come alive and look gorgeous. Office will actually be useable, web browsing should be a breeze, what's not to like?
