Why does my Lumia 930 swallow part of a number I try to dial?

Why does lumia 930 swallow part of a number I try to dial

I dial a mobile number with +640XXXXXX. As soon as I press dial: the number in the display changes to +64XXXXXX (and the dial fails miserably).
Kind regards,

Welcome to windows Central Koen,

Not sure but your number looks like 9 digits (your name sounds Dutch and a mobile number should have 10 digits)
If you use the + then the phone "thinks" it is an international number.
So +64 is the country code and then you do not need the 0 but the total number of digits are I think not enough.

Also check if you enabled international assist in phone settings .

Yes, thanks. In my memory the + was not only looking up the international dialcode but the country code you were in as well. Just like a local city- or area-code on a land phone, but that's nonsense of course.
