Irreparable damage of my L930 ?

Hi guys,

So, my L930 lasted less than I thought. Last Friday, I gave it to my friend, who was doing some video, and phone fell down from his hands.
Rather than putting here big images, here are 3 share links to photos of damage:

Basically, phone fell down not to screen side, but to aluminium bezel, from that point a net of screen damage went up.
However, as you can see, the bezel is somewhat slightly deformed at point of impact. My understanding is, that bezel is in fact one piece with monoblock of phone, like Macbooks are made, from single piece of aluminium.

I wrote to authorized service about repairing this damage, and they told me that they can replace screen, but not bezel, as they don't have spare part for this.
However, I read few other topics here about this, and I read that screen with aluminium block are one piece, making it impossible to do repair per-part.

So either here I read wrong information, of that authorized service is quite questionable in terms of knowledge.

Can somebody advise to me about this ?
Replacing only screen is not an option as bezel is deformed, and making it look OK again can result in bigger damage.
And since bezel is visible part of one-piece aluminium block, I am starting to believe that I will have to buy new phone... :crying:

Thanks,
Bobi

If you buy the part that is referenced above, it will take care of you. You will have to relocate the camera, headphone jack, and motherboard over to the new assembly. You'll also have to move the various cable connectors, battery, etc. It's not too hard to do.

It is possible to separate the screen from the bezel, and replace only one or the other. I actually just did that last week. In your case, though, replacing the whole assembly is by far the easiest thing to do.

With that dent, a new screen may not fit into your bezel anyways. You don't have to buy a whole new phone though.

If you do decide to replace the assembly, be careful when removing/reinserting the motherboard. It is easy to break the buttons on the side for vol/camera/power. Don't force anything in or out.
