Been long 1520 user, got used to performance and geting 830 as backup phone make me feel like biger downgrading then really is, but after some time using it i got used to smaller phone. I ended selling my mint 1520 for 320e(340$). Now i've got plan to wait 840/50 (don't know what model number it gonna be) and sell my 830 to upgrade to newer one.. problem is 950 come in and catch my eye. Price is problem and fact that rumors say 850 will come with sd 401.... i hardly doubt that 401 is so massive upgrade to 400 that is nessesery/worth for me to get it. So i started to think about alternative, 930. So 930 users, what are your opinions on that: should i wait 850 or try to save a little bit more for 950? do any of you have 830 and/or 950 in your hand with 930. Can you do mini comparison between and your personal opinion is upgrade was worth it? 700e is not small price and i can find 930 for 250ish with 2yrs warranty..

I'm in a similar predicament. I've had my 930 for a while, on the latest W10 Build. Normally I'd rush out to get the 950 (xl is too big for my taste) but reading all the specs, I don't see all that much difference. Yes there are a few cool things but none are overwhelming, The cameras seem very very close except for a tiny difference in the lens. I don't expect to use Continuum and I get by just fine with 3G speed. I don't need extra storage so far. So knowing/believing that there will be a Microsoft Phone in late 2016 I'm torn. I think that I may just pass and wait.

I would say it depends on what you can get a 930 for. If you can get one at half the price of a 950, that may be the way to go. The two phones feel very different, with the aluminum chassis of the 930 vs the plastic 950. The 950 is a beast inside, but the 930 is also in its own way.

There's no doubt that the 950 is a heck of a phone, but I don't think there's much that a 930 can't do.

I think if you held them each in one hand, and looked side by side, you might pick the 950 due to the screen, camera, and some of the specs.

However, if you are looking at performance vs price, and that is your only metric, the 930 would be hard to pass on, depending upon what you can buy it for.

You won't be disappointed with a 930, unless you are holding a 950 at the same time.

The 640 uses the 400 while the Blu Win HD LTE runs on a 401. Having both side by side I can tell you the Blu smokes the 640 on performance. If it had a decent camera the 640 would be an afterthought.

Wait for Surface Phone or whatever is the next iteration. This new one is still a placeholder from a change between Nokia and MS. Just watch WC's or Pocketnow's review, they both say nearly the same thing. As a 930 user I see no reason to switch platform at this point.

I think if you are on the fence for either one, get the 950. Lack of Glance screen on Lumia 930 is a break for lots of people, including me.

And slo-mo on 930 isn't so good either.

L930 owner here, and I'd recommend getting the 950 if you like it. 930 is a good phone, and it gets alot of praise for the aluminum, but I actually prefer the feel of the plastic Lumias due to lack of sharp edges. Having a replaceable back cover is pretty great for durability, too. I've been considering the 950 as well, and here's why I want it.

-Latest processors. L930 is good, but 950 is better
-Thin and light. This might be the main thing I like better about the 950. It makes my 930 feel unnecessarily bulky
-Excellent camera speed and color. I'm not totally convinced that the 950 as it is now has the fine detail that the 930 has, but that will continually improve for the 950 just as it has for all Lumias with updates.
-Expandable storage is a nice option
-XL is excellent for packaging efficiency...huge screen in relatively small package

The replaceable battery and quick charging aren't a big deal for me...I do wireless through the day as needed, or plug in at night when I don't need quick charging. L930 Qi is sufficient.
