Figure this could be a central location for reviews of the Icon. Might make it easy for everyone who is researching the phone.

I'm sure I missed some so as you find them post them here and I'll u

I personally liked laptopmags, phonescoop and WPCentral's review the most. They seemed to be the most neutral which is whats important for me.

Thanks for putting this all together. I also like the laptop magazine one. Specifically this laptop battery test. Sounds like the battery does the phone justice.

Since I'm sure you have read through most of those just putting the list together...what was the general conclusion? Another: "Great phone, no apps" ugh...

What are the biggest hits against it? Biggest wins?

The biggest problem with reading WP reviews is that they all act like they'd rather be doing something else. They also use certain things not relevant to the phone to downgrade the device. What I mean for that is instead of reviewing the Icon they review the Icon AND WP8, and then give the icon a poor review because of what they don't like about windows phone 8. I understand where theyre coming from but it would be nice to focus on the device itsself. Also, I kind of wish they would leave style opinions up to the reader, just because you don't like it doesn't mean you need to dedicate two paragraphs to something so subjective and individual.

The general feel from the reviews is that the 1520 is awesome, and this is like the 1520 therefore it is awesome.

The camera has been taking some knocks but again I'm not sure many of these people know anything about lumia camera software and might have set the ISO to high or who knows. Also its hard to draw a conclusion about the camera when it seems to be a 50:50 mix of, this camera is a disappointment or this is the 2nd best camera phone ever. They also all seem to skip the fact that in can shoot in RAW, so anyone who is familiar with photoshop/lightroom will be able to make their cell phone pics better than most people regular pics.

Battery life has been getting praises so has the general feel of the phone. Everyone is finally happy that they have flagship phone specs (as we all are). The general census is what we all think, one of the best windows phones ever to be made, especially for verizon, each with their own little caveat about what they don't like.

My opinion when shopping for new tech is to read and become familiar with all of the cons. If you understand them and accept that you can live with those cons, then the phone will probably a good fit. But what the hell do I know. I'm personally going to go to the store on the 20th and fondle it, then wait for MWC and make my decision.

The one thing I'm bummed out about is the speaker on it (according to reviews, it's not too good). The speaker on my 822 is terrible so I was hoping that they would put more focus on the Icon's speaker, but I guess not. If only it had speakers like the HTC One.

Interesting how that review doesn't mention wireless charging, NFC, radio tuner, more mature mapping.

I know that having just the radio on my 1520 is huge when going to the gym so I can listen in to the t.v.'s that have their sound tuned to a radio frequency.

I love iOS, but if you are going to do a comparison and claim correctly that the Apple ecosystem is much more mature, you should at least mention it's issues as well and how WP is actually superior on some of those fronts.

I honestly think I was just more interested to see the size comparison in someones hand. All of these comparison views are incredibly biased. Not always on purpose though, some people are just that unfamiliar with WP8

Below is why I hate reading WP reviews (from Wall Street Journal). I guess they are saying top of the line quad processor, 20 MP camera, and highest screen pixel density don't count as stand out features? Oh, it makes calls too.

Aside from Apps, which based on how they word their review, isn't considered a stand-out feature, what exactly are the stand-out feature of any of the recent iPhones, or Android phones? Did I miss them?

But to succeed in the smartphone market, particularly at a price of $200 or more, smartphones need to have a great standout feature. That?s especially true of Windows Phones, since it?s harder to sell folks on the strength of the platform and its apps. Windows Phone?s selection of apps is improving, but it?s still a distant third place to Apple?s iOS and Google?s Android mobile operating systems.

Fingerprint sensor? Slow motion video? Notification center? Siri enhancements?

Not saying they are worth more or any better than WP innovations...but they have them.

My biggest worry is the flash and the camera. I absolutely LOVE my 928 and its impressive low-lighting technology. Does one think that the improved megapixels outdoes the impressive Xenon flash? I'm probably going to get the Icon on release, since everything else about it is better, but I'm just worried that my photos won't look as impressive.

Its unfortunate but I think that really depends on each person. I have the 928 and the flash is good but I rarely find myself taking pictures at night so I'm not to concerned about. The camera itsself is going to be awesome though.

Most of that is OS dependent, not hardware dependent. Also, two of the four are coming in WP 8.1, which will be out soon and the Icon will get it.

One of those review mentioned lossless 3X soon while still capturing 1080P video. To me that's more useful than a fingerprint scanner or slow motion video. So is the daylight readable display. But, to each his own.

I'm with you both. I rarely utilize the flash, 'cause the 2.0 aperture on the 928 really gives you some flexibility in low light. Really hoping the Icon's sensor size and sampling hold up as well. I'll likely wait a bit on picking one up to see what some people can do with low light photos.
