Is there a way to get the alarm sound to be louder? I can sleep right through it. I downloaded another alarm app and the same thing happens. When I listen to the alarm sound in the settings it sounds loud, but then when it goes off I barely even hear it.

which phone do you have ? for me the stock alarm clock works fine except when I keep on pressing snooze and by that time I am already late 
it does not matter if I keep my phone volume to zero or on silent mode , stock alarm still works at full volume

I just downloaded a loud ringtone. Air raid siren, and red alert from star trek. Works every time.

I did the same. I have 2 different loud ringtones that I found with one of the Free Ringtones apps. One is R2D2 bleeping loudly. The other is the loud old fashioned alarm clock ring from the very beginning of Pink Floyd's Time, from Dark Side of the Moon.

it's just that the Icon speaker is not that loud. I have both my 521 and Icon set to the same alarm sounds. I have my 521 set to 20/30 volume and it's plenty loud to wake me. In fact, 20/30 is really loud on the 521. At the same time, I have to basically set my Icon to 30/30. It's just not loud.
if you talking about the stock alarm app , it does not affect the alarm volume , I keep my phone on silent mode or sometimes volume down to zero and alarm still works
get you icon diagnosed at nearest nokia care centre :smile:
