New (for me) Icon, upgrade from 928 setup question

Hello,
Long time lurker here, forgot my password and had to reset today. Lol
Usually I can find what I need by searching without bothering anyone, but...

I've had my 928 the day it came out on Verizon.
I have recently purchased a gently used Icon.
I have to go by Verizon to get a SIM card for it, no big deal there.

My question is, when I powered up the phone to check it out it asked if I wanted to restore from last backup or start fresh.
I'm not sure which way to go.
All my pictures and documents are on my desktop, in one drive, or in one note.
My contacts are stored in one of my email clients.

Is there any benefit of doing a restore?
I keep thinking that I need to do a fresh setup, do any and all updates and then hook in my apps and such.

restore does saves you the time and energy of reorganizing apps , copying downloading this and that of your files for the most part of it, though starting afresh is recommended at the end it all depends on how you need it.

i suggest go for a fresh start as you have all your data backed up in various places safely
