I am not a paranoid person  I have no problem trusting iCloud for my documents/photos/videos/contacts/bookmarks or trusting EA's Origin and Valve's Steam to manage my game library or trusting Google to read my Gmail's account e-mails. I don't do anything illegal on my PC or any mobile devices - I don't browse child porn sites or download illegal movie/game/software copies from torrent sites (I have no need for that). Why should I be afraid trusting those online services?

Because scumbags who make a living off identity theft just looooove trusting souls like you. Maybe I'm jaded from too many years seeing too many bad things happening to good people. You'd be surprised how little personal information these pieces of s**t need to wreck your life.

Love the clean look of the ui.
pureview camera, though the 'softness' is an issue i hope will be fixed with portico
office excell actually works!
big screen
gorgeous form factor
nokia music, it is actually really excellent

The people hub wasn't a selling point but it should be!
Someone else already said it, WP is a communication device that launches apps, Iphone an app launching devices that supports communication.

I'm more surprised by how many personal information some people are willing to openly share on various social networks, web forums and other similar places, especially where a simple Google search can locate it (I've done some searches on some people in the past... Not for malicious purposes, but for other reasons 😉). That may be more dangerous in many cases than trusting your information (through the cloud storage or in similar ways) to a large, well-known corporation.

Um, I'll be honest here.. I have T-Mobile, so I can't get an iPhone yet. Although, I have a Zune Pass now on WP7.5. And I love listening to all the damn music I want. I upload all my mixtapes to SkyDrive, stream them to my phone. And Office on my phone has saved my school life more times than I can count. I can study for my finals almost-fantastically. When I had an ipod touch, I never managed to find a good solution to 30 pages of notes.

They are putting Xbox Music on iOS, one day. And I'm happy for them. I like Zune Pass very much so, and I want everybody to share that feeling with me.
Anyway, I absolutely plan on getting a WP8.5 this year. I'm hoping Sony gets their act together on WP8.5 this year. Lenovo, ASUS, and LG are jumping on the bandwagon. I think I would love a Microsoft Surface phone.

Oh, and I can pin Yelawolf to my start screen. I love that. ~ But we'll see! WP8.5 and XBOX Infinity 2013!!

Since tmobile announced LTE, I'm sure that nokia will announce a HIGH END phone with them when 8.5 comes out or EARLIER!

😁 You M$ fanbots are just Lulz...

Any ****** is "lulz". That being said, there is merit to the "iPhone sheep" statement as iphones are sold on the basis of "everyone has it" a lot of the time, IME, and not because of actual features/needs met.

Go into a store and they will try to push you away from Windows Phone, my g/f went into a At&t store with her dad and he asked about the 920 and the salesman immediately said it was crap and to get an iPhone, my g/f who likes my phone said to the salesman that her boyfriend has a 920 and loves it. The sales.an shut up and walked away.

This happened in Verizon when my wife explained she wanted the 8X not the iphone5. (Which she already had) Pretty unprofessional if you ask me.

I hear about sales reps saying that WPs are utter BS... bought mine online. Activating was a pain: one hour Skype call, since the landline can't do 800 numbers. Day 2, I go to Verizon and ask about a case for the 822. Sales rep USES an 822: was happy to see another user using WP. Wish I got the Otter case, but got the high-gloss silicone instead.
All-in-all, you nees to find sales reps that use the same OS as you do.

A few people have asked me that.

I just tell them I just liked the Windows Phone interface better and I enjoy the bigger screen on my Lumia 920.

When people ask me which phone to get, or which is "best" I ask them what they have used in the past and how they use their phone. I don't go around evangelizing Windows Phone and telling everyone to get one or talking about how the iPhone sucks. In fact I've recommended the iPhone to a few people who I felt would be happier with it than a Windows Phone.

If someone has been using the iPhone for a while and they are happy with it and not bored of the interface, then why would I try and persuade them to switch to Windows Phone?

Now if someone is looking for an alternative to the iPhone and they don't have any specific app requirements like Instagram and don't demand always having the latest game as soon as it's released and they aren't a "power user", that is a circumstance where I do suggest they consider Windows Phone.

I rarely endorse Android though, because I think it's a poor choice for average users.

I agree. I do think most people will be happy with an iPhone, but it's just annoying when some people think everyone should have one.

Why dont I get an iPhone?

Well i got this phone not so long ago and I still like it alot. I am however thinking about purchasing and IPhone in the future. Im an inpatient person overall and im tired of waiting for things to happen on this mobile platform. So yeah its because i had this phone for a short time. I should probably stop making purchases the market since I will walk away in the future.

I've had my Lumia 900 for almost a year; moving over after 3 years of iPhone. I love the Lumia but lately I've been missing the quality and variety of apps that iPhone has. I support WP devs by purchasing apps on a weekly basis but it's frustrating now that new cool apps are WP 8 only; or when devs pull support from WP to focus on Android and IOS. I have a first gen iPod Touch that runs almost all the apps my iPhone 4 does. That's good support. Microsoft could learn from that. I'm under contract until Halloween so I'll have some time to decide on which OS to stay with. My wish is for a WP with iPhone level apps ...

How do you expect better apps on a 7.5 device when most developer, when they do develop want to incorporate all new features.

The difference between your ipod/phone and wp7/8 is that your iPod and iPhone have the same exact is...wp7 and 8 couldn't be farther apart. They look the same but everything underneath is different.

Developers have to have two instances of the same app for wp7/8.

What did you just say? I think you need to sober up a bit before posting.
