Hi. I would like to know how to slow down my own WiFi connection. I pay for the internet service and I purchased the router. I heard something about QOS. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Never down it myself but hopefully this helps.

How Do I Limit the WiFi Bandwidth Broadcast by My Router? | eHow

Though I guess it depends on what type of router you have.

What router do you have? I can limit the speed through my internal router setting.

I have a media link. I accessed the traffic control settings and capped the download speed. And it doesn't seem to have worked. Like anything has happened. Everyone is still using the bandwidth like it normally is. ( and by that I mean hogging it up and I get non ).

    Is anyone downloading via torrent?

If so, block them till they give you a promise that they'll only do it if no-one's awake.

Does that setting cap the download speed for each user, or globally?

Can't you just change the letter band. From N to B?

B is really slow i think, and range isn't as good as N

Yes, its not what they that is the problem. Its when they do it. I usually have to wait until they fall asleep to get any work done in peace. And the download cap can be for multiple devices although, they seem to be unaffected. I think I will go with plan C pretty soon, then none of us will be happy. And no you cannot just change the letter.
