Re: WPC 20K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I need cake and cookies!

...it's nearly Christmas time. Soon we'll be overrun by cookies.

Swiss have strange traditions at Christmas - although I must say I prefer your way of doing things - come boxing day all signs of Christmas have been removed - in the UK people have already got lights and decorations up and many tend to leave them up well into January. Madness

Re: WPC 20K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Been thinking about that ipad air advert where its hidden behind a pencil.

Think its a bad marketing choice as even a pencil is more productive than an ipad. :winktongue:

In Canada I recall some people leaving them up longer, with them still on. :/

Hey Martin, did you get your phone sorted? I noticed you started a thread and had some issues with it.

Commercialism gets us all. We are not as extreme as I saw it last autumn in Edinburgh with Christmas trees already out and light up, but stores start to put it out earlier and earlier too.

Christmas stuff in the UK starts showing up in summer basically. Though my mum in said it was getting like that in Canada too.

So what parts confused you and what parts made you angry?

The thread went offtopic with the first response, and they started to argue if a bad review should be posted in this forum or not. This is what I call a thinking short circuit and I really dislike those.

What better place to discuss a bad review than a forum with people really using and liking the devices?

And as far as I read the thread, nobody really answered your question.

Not had any issues with my 1020 - only problem I can remember posting about recently was late notifications on Facebook etc. But I turned them off so its no longer an issue :eek:rly:

Guess im just a bit of a humbug when it comes to things like that. Get the same with cards - especially for birthdays - just don't see the point - you pay for a piece of card with a message in it - you write your name and the persons name your giving it to - you look at it when you open it then it sits on a shelf - where it stays until you remember to remove it and throw it away. Would rather get a phone call or a message to say happy birthday and save yourself a few pounds.

Think the problem with the thread was everyone focused on the review itself rather than the question in the last paragraph - questioning the review is ok I guess as it was the main point of contention but it shouldn't have become the main topic - Jon Bentley is still a tool though.

I agree fully with what you just said.

I don't know if you encounter this much but I often find when I write emails (business and otherwise) I sometimes don't get answers back to my questions. My wife has the same issues as well. It's very frustrating.

Yeah architects and consultants are the worst for that - send an email asking for something and you get the most ambiguous, non committal response back. That then requires you to send another email slightly less polite and slightly more condescending to actually get an answer. So yeah you've now got your answer but you also come across as a bit mean.

The Surface 2 one?

I read that thread as well no one has given you the answer that your looking for just arguing over why you posted a review, only a few gave answers.

I was hoping to read some review from some members that have the device which would talk about the practical/real life situations that it comes in handy for.

It seems that some members have got confused about what the thread was about just assuming it about the review you put up which it wasn't about then others giving you site to go on when you really want members to give their own reviews.
