I am in Switzerland. I blame climate change for the heat wave ;-)

Maybe it's the high level of solar flares as well? (I agree with climate change btw) We're apparently going through a high point of the 11 year cycle.

You know I find it amusing that people seem to think certain areas are always cold. :p

When I lived in Toronto we had summers that hit 32-36C with a 80% humidity. In Finland when I lived there they hit high 20s to low 30s in the summer with humidity because they have tonnes of lakes. Here in the UK I've seen 37C.

When I lived in Australia I saw 47C (plus humidity) and when in Las Vegas 45-50C with no humidity (that's weird btw).

Then there's just the retaliative difference in what people think of as 'hot'. When you live in warm climates anything below 20C is freezing and anything above 35C is uncomfortable. In Canada, 15 to 20C was pleasant to me where anything above 25C was boiling hot.
