re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

For me DSLRs are too big and complex. But I might consider a Mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera at one point as they become better and better while even full frame cameras of this type are being released now.

At the moment I'm however happy with my affordable high-end compact camera.
Are those even made for consumer use? I thought only professional photographers used those..

While the 925 is wide, it is almost as light to carry weight wise as the 8X. I think you may trade a little bit more weight with the 1020 to compensate for that massive sensor. I still curse MSFT for putting the S600 processor in the 1020, because Amber didn't support it at that time.

If I had bought a new phone a few months ago it would have most likely been the 925. I guess now I'd choose the 930 over it. Actually I don't know anything about the camera of the 930, is it the same technology as in the 925?

I'm really wondering what the potential 1020 successor will look like.

Well, they are pretty common. However cameras like this with full frame sensor were only very recently released, I think this technology needs another few years.

It has 20MP resolution, OIS, newer lens and sensor, faster shoot time due to the snapdragon 800... It will be better than the 925's camera 📷.

930 also has a separate image signal processor.

It will most likely have a better processor than the 800...probably 805. Releasing a phone with an 800 late this year would be a mistake

The Verge says it's about as good as the iPhone 5S' camera, Engadget says it offers a fantastic imaging experience.

Those are actually Icon reviews. This reminds me of how old this phone actually already is ;-)

I don't trust the Verge since they announced that the iPhone 5s is the best phone ever. Engadget does make fair reviews however.

I just randomly visited this German homepage and noticed the 930 review: Nokia Lumia*930 - Test - CHIP Handy Welt

They say it's a good camera overall, but has troubles focusing in daylight. They give the phone a "very good" with 92.3 %. They seem to agree with me however concerning the pricing, they give it 55 % there ;-)
