re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

A few weeks ago, I ditched my old netbook. For the glorious T100, of course.

Specs!
AMD Brazos Dual Core (1.0 GHz)
2GB RAM
Some low-end AMD graphics card
A slow and relatively loud 500GB HDD

The best part was that it ran Win7, and I had to really trim down the startup tasks to get it working within two minutes of me turning it on.

Does your T100 come with the HDD built into the dock?

I see they took the 925/928 speaker and put it on the 830. I'm curious to see how this looks, even though I may end up buying a 930. Burnt orange pops for real...

Yeah, but I find it much easier to use as a tablet.

It'll see use once I start on my (marathon) coding projects and once I start watching anime on the go.
I don't have a microSD card, though, so I have ~900MB of free space on the T100 itself...after installing multiple Touhou games and Osu!

The 830 might end up like the 820 did, though: Shunned for its battery life. How large is the battery according to the leakers?

I don't know what is capacity of the battery, but if it's like in 820 I'm out. I won't charge my phone twice a day, I just won't.

Anyway, those pics of 830 are photoshoped, you can't place 3 phones on same place.

820: 1650 mAh. Six-eight hours worth of 3G talk time.
E6: 1500 mAh. Very long amount of talk time.
I miss Symbian.

Houston, we have a problem.

The 920 is draining faster than the 820.

My battery is a bit better lately after thrashing it one day. However I think my wife's is still better. I had a time there I was barely getting 6 hours of basic use. I haven't really tested it. It's getting warm in my hand simply by using this app, think not as bad as it used to. I could have cooked an egg on the screen.

re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

In case anyone's still interested here's my rig:

Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VI HERO Intel Z87 Socket 1150 Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core Retail CPU (Socket 1150, 3.40GHz, 6MB, Haswell, 84W, Intel Graphics, BX80646I74770, 4th Generation Intel Core, Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)
RAM: G.Skill RipJawsX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C10 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit
Storage: Samsung F3 HD103SJ 1TB - Hard Drive
Samsung 840 Series Pro 128GB 2.5 inch SATA Solid State Drive - SSD (Main OS Drive)
Graphics: ASUS Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP 3GB / R9280X-DC2T-3GD5
CPU Cooler: 140mm NH-U14S Noctua Slim U-Series Intel LGA1155/1156/2011 &AMD FM1/FM2/AM3+/AM3/AM2+ CPU cooler
Case: Coolermaster Storm Sniper (Black Edition)
Case Fan (Exhaust): Noctua NF-F12PWM Case Fan 120 mm (will get more 200mm fans when Noctua come out with theirs)
Display: Dell U2713HM AH-IPS Display with a native resolution of 2560x1440

This starts up from cold in 8 seconds - I need a good, quick rig because as a graphic designer I need to use big files and need responsiveness to do that work all the time.

I'm crying salty, salty tears after imagining what kind of rig this is.

Ah, money means a lot.

So lunch was good. Included carrot cake too. There was fresh salad, roasted pork, my shrimp Alfredo and spaghetti with ground chicken and garlic bread. IF BP had stopped by, he would still be eating...

I feel somewhat sleepy from that feast...wish I had a cold Guinness to wash that good stuff down.
