Re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I flashed my Xperia V with my carrier firmware to see if it will fix itself. If not, I'll flash it with country generic firmware.

And sadly, the moment I inserted a SIM card, the V turns off by itself.

But wait! The generic Android 4.3 country variant firmware is holding up!

Re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I've heard that, but I have the 1520 with the 3400 mAh battery. Never had any issues.. Every night when I get home, it always has at least 30-40% left and I think I'm a heavy user.
I think it's mostly due to the size of the 1520 and the battery they could stick in it that it lasts as long as it does. Since the L930 is the same as the 1520 except for the battery and size, the battery is the one thing that prevented me from buying it.

My Z3 gets 2-3 days depending what I'm doing with it. If I'm at 30 or 40% of my battery at the end of a day means I really pushed the phone that day. Even when I was in Barcelona I only hit under 40% once after a day. Usually I was still around the 50% mark.

Re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I've owned a N5, Z Ultra, 1520 and a 930. The common theme is that they all are SD800 phones. While the 1520 has the biggest battery, I'd still get slightly less mileage on it than I did on the 1+1, which had the slightly smaller screen on a newer chip set with a similar sized battery.

To me, it's still a gas guzzler. I have to baby my 930 to get to a day and a half. As in like really not use it.

Penned on a Xperia Z3
Hmm do those other phones have all the sensor core stuff like the 1520/930 does? I'm trying think what would cause the battery hogging that the 1520 exhibits. I don't have anything to compare the battery life to other than my previous WPs (920, 1020) and all my previous iPhones... So to me, the 1520's mileage is pretty stellar.

Re: WC 100K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Man, I hope this upcoming Windows 10 insider preview for phones isn't as "rough around the edges" as the latest 9926 PC build. It's going to be installed on my daily driver 1520 either way..
I expect to see this forum filled with crying users. Even with knowing the risks there are many who are going to install it in their daily.

It's not going to be a fun time on the forums at all.

Even with people practically exploding with excitement it's a tad annoying how people are going on about the TP...

Well, I know what to expect myself.. So you won't hear me crying. I'll be running it with the intent of helping others. I'm not worried. One, I know how to use the LRT, and two, I have a backup phone in case of emergency.

I have confidence that Microsoft is going to give us a good functional preview. As long as my 1520 can make and receive phone calls and texts, I'm willing to work around the rest if it still needs work. I'm really interested in trying it out... Y'know, being Microsoft's guinea pig lol...

But agree, there are some that are not seeing it for what it is; a technical preview, which is basically a beta release software. I think the problem is, too much confidence has been built up by users using the dev preview OS and they think this will be the same issue free ride.
