Yup, on a piston engine it's a sign that the piston rings are leaking oil into the combustion chamber.

But check this out: on a rotary engine, like the one in my Mazda RX8, burning oil is normal. It's designed to burn oil from the factory. In other words, a brand new rotary engine car burns oil right off the showroom floor by design. I usually burn through a quart of oil a month.. Fun Fun!

I never knew that about rotary engines!

Don't see too many RX8s around. We were thinking of one way back in 2007 in Australia.

Our car wasn't ready so we're now test driving a 2015 120d. Not fond of diesel engines but this thing has major pep. The interior is nice too. Not our kind of car but gives us an idea of the newer BMW. Our next step in the car we own.

Yeah I read it was a good family movie. It's a British story. I didn't see any clips. Were the actors British? Did it follow the book?

nono not wankel engines but rotary engines. i mostly see them on either drag strip cars or very old cars
