Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!
I'd take you on today, but the new girl's in my office.
I'll sum it up and say I partially agree with you. But there is some revolution coming...so I wouldn't say we're incapable of doing that - as the Black Rights matter stuff shows, some us know how to protest and it takes the right galvanizing group to tap into that.

I can't say much for the US. There's been talk about different revolutions there for many years and none of them have come to fruition. Even the Occupation movement died rather quickly though some of the legacy buzzwords continue. Funny how quickly minds change when jobs, money and feeding your family become important.
We've had many 'movements' but very little traction in any of them. Social change is hard and changing mindsets when people are 'used' to an idea is even harder, even when it's a bad idea.
Here in the EU there's been a strong shift to the right all in the idea of opposition to migration and other 'outside' forces. Yet we have one of the largest migration crises in decades happening. The right wing governments are floundering about what to do as they can't seem to win one way or the other. Goes to show how much the right wing is opposition to most people's views.
If you look at the US political system you see the same nonsense over and over. The right is going far right and the left has become the new right and the far left is nothing more than a floundering mess because it can't make anyone trust them because, money. Or that's what the politicians will tell you anyway.
Sadly this craziness has made it's way here and other countries. It's no surprise that money is the greatest pacifier in the world right now and by far the greatest tool used. That and shiny tech toys.
To give you an idea of what I mean about distraction though. I sit on a train and I over hear people talking about sports stars receiving these insane amounts of money to kick a ball around and people talk about it like it's a good thing. Just goes to show you where our values are and what we feel is important. So much so that millions is spent on it every year just so the frenzy keeps going. Makes you wonder. Rome used blood sport to keep the masses in check. I don't see this as any different.
