Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Truest words ever spoken - "You'll never be rich working for someone else."

I'm a 'victim' of this slavery as well so I know how you feel. :)

Bob Marley would say this is such a rat race. It is just exhasuting and I really want no part of it. But, I need a place to sleep and food to eat, so I'll put up with it for now.

You know I've come to the conclusion that there will never be another revolution in the western world. No overthrows. No standing up for what's right. Nothing. We're practically wimps now and each generation we'll breed more of them. We're too comfortable. Too scared. Too fearful of the 'what if'. Too tied to commercialisation that we're practically zombies.

I may be wrong but I think those in power have done a great job of leading us down this path as far as I'm concerned. Our lives are so full of distractions now we can hardly concentrate on anything. We question everything and answer nothing. Debate has taken over action. It's endemic in the work place.

Also our problems seem too big and too overwhelming that we've closed ourselves in to our little worlds filled with the internet, sports, mobile devices and other things that distract us from the real world.

What lives we lead, that of ever expanding consumerism, high prices and toils of slavery (work).

Well that's my rant for the next 6 months.

It look to iOS for me. But it has a lot of functions, I give you that.

Actually Ron Amadeo of Ars Technica or maybe someone else did a good review of how these Chinese iOS clones are really good but now with Android L and M, the iOS skins are not able to harness all the new features that AOSP has to offer to them.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

The problem is they keep making 'premium' phones and selling then at premium prices but there is no justification for the price of these phones. (I know the prices weren't announced but it's Sony) No one is going to buy that compact version when you can get a great mid range phone for a lot less. I just don't get where their head is at. It's like their ignoring the market and just doing the same thing they always do, which isn't working.

I guess we'll have to wait for reviews before final judgement but I get the feeling that the only version anyone is interested in is the 4K version simply for novelty factor. At least that's my opinion.

SMH

Ignorance, there is a cure.
Insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different outcome....but I guess Sony doesn't know that. Oh well we'll get to see the Z6 in February. On a side note everyone keeps wondering why Sony devices don't do well in the USA - no carrier support, too pricey for factory direct and dat camera...

yeah :D.. observing your subject in their natural habit could be good if your subject doesn't know that you are watching me. that's why reality tv shows aren't really real. they act differently since they are on camera( the Kardashians)

survey/polling is another way to get info since it could be at random people. thought the surveyor could manipulate or word the question so it could be most likely to confirm their bias in a certain subjects
You actually managed to type up two fairly coherent paragraphs??
Kudos!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

When I was in Norway I wend to the Edward Munch Museum. Most people know of his painting The Scream. However he was a very prolific painter. There as one that probably resonated more with me than any other as it reminded me so much of today.

Evening on Karl Johan Street (Posh street in Oslo the place to be seen)

This kind of ties in with my little rant. :p

I'd take you on today, but the new girl's in my office.

I'll sum it up and say I partially agree with you. But there is some revolution coming...so I wouldn't say we're incapable of doing that - as the Black Rights matter stuff shows, some us know how to protest and it takes the right galvanizing group to tap into that.

They've changed how many CEOs now? Restructuring for 10 years now? They're not ready to get a clue yet, it seems.

I can't say much for the US. There's been talk about different revolutions there for many years and none of them have come to fruition. Even the Occupation movement died rather quickly though some of the legacy buzzwords continue. Funny how quickly minds change when jobs, money and feeding your family become important.

We've had many 'movements' but very little traction in any of them. Social change is hard and changing mindsets when people are 'used' to an idea is even harder, even when it's a bad idea.

Here in the EU there's been a strong shift to the right all in the idea of opposition to migration and other 'outside' forces. Yet we have one of the largest migration crises in decades happening. The right wing governments are floundering about what to do as they can't seem to win one way or the other. Goes to show how much the right wing is opposition to most people's views.

If you look at the US political system you see the same nonsense over and over. The right is going far right and the left has become the new right and the far left is nothing more than a floundering mess because it can't make anyone trust them because, money. Or that's what the politicians will tell you anyway.

Sadly this craziness has made it's way here and other countries. It's no surprise that money is the greatest pacifier in the world right now and by far the greatest tool used. That and shiny tech toys.

To give you an idea of what I mean about distraction though. I sit on a train and I over hear people talking about sports stars receiving these insane amounts of money to kick a ball around and people talk about it like it's a good thing. Just goes to show you where our values are and what we feel is important. So much so that millions is spent on it every year just so the frenzy keeps going. Makes you wonder. Rome used blood sport to keep the masses in check. I don't see this as any different.
