And as someone who's read s lot of history for that time, I agree.

It is just that there was a lot of evil running amok those days. With dictators in Germany, Russia, Italy, and Japan - China in civil war until the Japanese came in there - things certainly looked touch and go from a global perspective.

I don't think they're much better today, you know Palestine, Syria, Iran, Lybia, Egypt, Tunisia and stuff.

Invading Rusaia was actually the worst tactical decision he had ever made.
He went there in June/July, and slowly advanced into the heart of Russia when a winter cought them unprepared.
Basicaly, Russians were just retrieving themself deeper into the country burning everyhing behind them, and that strategy killled more Germans than their guns did.

For the previous post, as i said, no of them was good, but still they're not on the same level of madness.

Well, from the Russian end, the best thing was the Germans invading at the time for the reasons listed in the post.

And at the time the Germans felt they needed to because they wanted the oil in the Caucasus. After all, the resource annexed from Poland and the Czech region could only go so far.

Anyways, there was much evil amok at the time. None of it particularly healthy if you were a light skinned brother like me...

Well, it is worse today's, technically. At least back then they big targets were more easily defined globally. As the world has gotten smaller it is become easier to see the skeletons in our neighbor's closets...

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Since 2000. I think. The arrival of new millenium.

This one's my favourite. Mayans stopped counting years (cause why the **** would they even count that many of them?) at a certain point and some smart a** figures out it's an end of the world.

If i remember correctly, many men became fathers that sad December day.
In the year 1000 many thought the world was ending then too. There have been other times as well where people thought the world was ending in history.

This whole self importance we place on ourselves is our undoing. We think we're the most important thing in the universe.

To bring in socialism properly you need to lose the baggage we keep carrying with us from history which tells us we're both special and broken. Once we drop that crap we'll be in a better place, not perfect but better.

Unfortunately, it's more likely we'll destroy ourselves prior to that.

Unfortunately there a lot of evil still around based on beliefs from thousands of years ago that we can't seem to shake. Regardless how ignorant those beliefs are.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'm annoyed as to why MSFT messed up Arrow like with the new update where it is an asspain to remove widgets like this. I really liked Arrow and had a clean set up but now I'm giving Nova a try. Haven't used it in years.

I still like the Z launcher and Sony Xperia launcher a lot though. Arrow is good too, but on break until they fix with widget issue.

I assume you have them for a quite a bit of time now?
The ones that i had for the longest period of time (2 years) were Nokia ones i got with my Asha. Now, they don't last more than 3 months and it's become such a pain looking for a new pair every few months.
Buy quality one once ;)

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Cough, embargo for Bosnians during the war.
Not what I had in mind. There were mass murders over here. Yugoslav Partisans killed national guard soldiers. National guard were the one that helped Germans. Not a nice thing but there is more to that.

Soldiers of national guard were mostly people from rural part of Slovenia, the ones that went to church a lot so Church "persuaded" them to join national guard because we know the relationship between church and communists isn't good. Those were people which didn't know who they are fighting for.
National guard started to form later in the war so I heard stories where some older children went to partisans and other went to national guard, so brothers fought at opposing sides.

So what does UK and America have with all that? After war ended, the partisans won here so soldiers of the national guard started running out of here but Americans stopped them and sent them back. The partisans killed them...

Yeah that's a real mess and of course we didn't get the full story either out here.

It's weird how for half my life the world was one way and now it's different but still messy. I do wonder if it will get better.

I still have to make my way to the eastern countries in Europe. So much to see.

Well there's the same amount of things to blame them after the breaking of Yugoslavia. Again, Dayton? Yup. They gave us a modern marvel, the democracy in it's finest form.

We will get optical fibre, apparently they put it into the ground while doing sewerage. So without any additional cost on this plan we will be able to get 100mbs instead of current 15.
