On paper capitalism seems good but in reality it only benefits the rich ,while the middle class ( if there is one anymore ) are stuck paying most of the taxes and the poor ..... Stay poor.That's an over simplified Version of how I can wrap my head around capitalism . Each economic ideal has its ups and downs.

Now that was a solid 15mins of reading and trying to catch and understand everything.

So, apparently, you guys have some concerns about capitalism? Or should i say you kinda hate it? Well, i'm not far from that myself, but again there's the other side of the coin.

If thing have stayed like they were on socialism/communism, that means no competing market. Would we have the world we have today? I mean, if there wasn't competition, what would push the inovations? In Yugoslavia we had f***** up cars, Yugo, ever heard of it? It is officialy the worst car ever driven on US roads (there may be some propaganda to it, but you'll get the point), government controlled the market, the prices, the wages, productivity, import... everything. And there was no or very few reasons to advance in fields where a consumer would have benefits.

Thoughts?

I dislike much of the elements in capitalism, especially the ones that reinforces the rich v poor dichotomy. That's the short version of where I stand.

Hey Sahib...i went nostalgic and made a Mr. West playlist, which had his stuff from 2009-2011...arguably the best sound Kanye had. I miss old school Kanye...he's gotten to be more hype man and Mr. Kardashian these days. Still plan to check on the Life of Pablo to hear what he's up to, but man "Power" and "Power" remix (feat. Jay-Z) are still some good stuffs.

Maybe I'll pick up some Kendrick Lamar to stay current but I'm rocking that Mr. West playlist going to work tomorrow. Still say that Amber Rose detox album (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) is his best work yet...

That was 6(!) years ago...wow...

You're right about Yugo. Those cars were so bad that people in the US threw them away instead of fixing them when they broke.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma . since msft isn't going to make anymore midrange phones I don't have an upgrade path for my 830. sure there is the blu win hd LTE, the acatel one touch for windows 10 but those phones lack in the camera department , also the recording isn't that good. which means the there is the 950 but that's to expensive for my taste right now. also the rumored phone from HP is going to be a high end phone which I bet will cost around the same price of the 950 XL when it launched. it sucks to want a mid range right now in wp :/

Do you really need a new phone or just want it? If you aren't in a rush I would wait for L950 to drop in price.

Communism has been implemented incorrectly in pretty much every country that it arose in. It's hard use any example as a proper measure if it was good or not.

There are socialist countries, like Finland, where there is a mix of capitalist thinking and a socialist system where the poor, sick and old are well looked after. They just happen to have one of the best school systems in the world to.

The problem you have in counties where capitalist ideas rule is that they believe it's the only method. You mention taxes to these people and you'd swear that you said a curse word. That's the problem. Capitalist society is pretty much the idea that low tax and free market are the only way to be successful. When the only measure of success is $$$ then you see why they think this way. That's why a school system like Finland's will never exist in capitalist controlled countries. Because it's too expensive which means higher taxes. Same with free health care.

You can still have a competitive market and a good social system. Look up Denmark.

The biggest issue you have is that in the last 40ish years there's been a concerted effort to make people believe that capitalism is good, taxes are bad, money is important, your neighbour should look after themselves and being poor is your fault. This is what I have issues with. The idea of individualism mixed with capitalist thinking has turned people into selfish greedy jerks for the most part.

You're right about Yugo. Those cars were so bad that people in the US threw them away instead of fixing them when they broke.

Please don't think that all Americans are like that. Not all of us are so close minded.

I've known people of many different races and nationalities, and I've noticed that people are more are more alike than different. I welcome neighbors from all over.

Ibid. 200%. Problem i have is some of these European countries you quoted have the luxury of not spending much on military and defense because the US does that for them. So they can offload that coin into beneficial social policy. So 'Murica bit off more than it could chew because it had to in some ways.

This is a lot more complex and messy than a simple forum in some corner of the INTERNET can begin to cover, rose640. Rue and i were trying to highlight some salient points, but there's a lot to go read...

Got you I'm starting to look into the new flagships that are coming on Sunday So far the biggest contender for place in my pocket at the end of the year is LG G5, it seems it will bring something new to the table. If those will be still to expensive I will just go for Nexus 6P.
