Nothing wrong with 'torch' and 'aeroplane'. :p

Maybe try Australian English. It's a bit different. They don't use Torch but I'm not sure about aeroplane... I can't remember. LOL!

Like the name of your WiFi by the way.
No Torch, but Aeroplane is still there. LOL

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

If you're referring to Bush Jr., he wasn't 'Trump-like'. He was extreme right wing with high levels of conservative values. Probably the worst 8 years of a US presidency.

Personally as much as I loath Trump I think he's lying to his crowds. He believes the right is easy to manipulate. That's why he choose to run as a Republican. He's even stated as much.

Though lots of people hate Trump and are fearful of his presidency I don't believe it would be as bad as Bush. But that is a guess.

Well starting wars amd destabilizing whole regions is one thing, and being racist is another. But still, banning muslims, building a wall to the Mexico (with Mexico's money, what?), that's just purely insane. As I said, who's going to pay for it, Mexico? Pff, tax payers? I don't think so. They're just going to protest 'cause Trump spending their money on dumb things. As you sad Rue, the unbreakable loop.

Once again Rue I can not quote you, it appears that this app can't handle long posts.

Anyway, nostalgia. We've got plenty of that. Even the socialism era wasn't that bad economically speaking, the present of human rights just wasn't good enough. N freedom of speach, no multiple political parties, fixed elections, fixed trials, 'fixed' history, propaganda everywhere. Ahh, what not. Not to mention that Tito had an island of his own, and that he traveled the whole ******* world on country's check.
But as I said, economically speaking this region has never been more developed. Unlike other communistic countries they progressed thanks to the will to be independent from SSSR. Long story short, Tito, Bijedić and others are percieved as saints nowdays in the eyes of older people. Such as my grandpa. He has Tito's portrait everywhere. In his flat, our weekend house, car, you name it.

I'll explain it this way. Trump is playing the perfect snake oil salesman. He's making promises he can't and won't keep just so he can get elected. He knows what to say to who. He knows how to attract the people he wants and hopes and believes they're a majority to vote him in. He's playing the old fashioned country hick politician. It's all a facade. I'm not saying he doesn't believe some of the things he says, don't get me wrong, but I believe a lot of it is purely to get elected.

He's catering to the lowest common denominator and to the back country American psyche. You're seeing back country US politics in a national form. This is what it really is like in the US in some areas, not all. Most put a 'political face' on but Trump has dropped it and now you see the raw form.

I don't like this type of politics mind you, hell I don't like politics at all and this form of it is very nasty and ugly. But that's what happens when you get people who just want to get elected and feel they have a way to do it.

I've never been a fan of nostalgia. I have trouble watching costume dramas which seem to go our of their way to paint a pretty picture of the past. Downtown Abbey is an example of this. Lots of other shows as well. The continuous output of these types of shows is like fawning for a past that doesn't exist.

Saying that, the biggest problem you have is that a lot of older people look back and think 'how great it was when I was younger..." They of course remember the good times and polish the bad to be good. They have rose tinted glasses on and can't relate to the world today because it's 'so different'. Which is true, a lot has changed in 50-70 years. That's part of the problem though. They talk of simpler times. Community and so on . Complain about technology and how it's changed everything. It has but that's not the problems of why communities have suffered.

The truth is, revisionist history is a bad thing. Things weren't so great then. Lots of stuff was kept hidden. You didn't talk about it like you do now. All those things we think are horrid now, child molestation, wife beating, drunken abuse, being gay and so on was cliche. You knew about it but you kept to yourself but were still part of the community.

We weren't more innocent in the past. Just more ignorant. Not saying that things are peachy these days either. There's a lot that's wrong with society today but there's also lots that's better.

I'm not one for nostalgia. I believe in forward thinking and being progressive that's the only way for things to get better. Community is about making it not assuming it.

Morning crew! Had a great day off yesterday, spent with friends and family... Did a little cookout on the grill; burgers and brats!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Also, the 2nd was my GF's son's 15th birthday. I bought him retail Windows 10 pro 64bit for his desktop PC. He was the only one in the house that hadn't yet upgraded to Win10. Stuck on Windows Vista, he obviously wasn't eligible for the free upgrade, so I figured this'd be the perfect birthday present.

I was really impressed with the retail packaging! Should've done an "unboxing" video...

It says "Home" on the box^^^ but it's the dual option package (includes home, pro, 32, and 64bit) all in one.
