Slovenia, nothing special but considering how bad it is when raining god knows how it would be with snow.
Ahhhh Ok I gotcha. You do get snow though don't you?
WOW!!! Y'all have the cleanest rivers in Europe! Now I see you have everything from sub-Mediterranean to Alpine climate and LOTS of mountains, just a BEAUTIFUL place !!!

It's a Honda Ridgeline.
In the Mid-Atlantic it isn't the dark or the rain - it's 2" snow that turns people into absolute idiots.

Just a bit of flurries stops everything here in the UK. We're simply not prepared for it. We get a bit in the mountains and high areas but not many people live there.

But then in Canada, first snow fall and it's accidents galore! Doesn't matter how much either. Especially in Toronto. They usually count in the hundreds.

Australia is the same as the UK except in the Blue Mountains and parts of Tasmania. You don't get much snow on the coast, sometimes inland, but man those southerly winds are chilly.

Eastern Europe is on our places to visit in the next year or two. Were hoping to do a driving trip from here to Finland. With a few stops on the way. We don't plan to take the most direct route.

I only hate driving after dark when there's bugs to smash against my truck. Now it's cold, I'm good with the Dark. Cod I hate bugs smashing against my beautiful machine. I can see every one comin' and I feel every one hit and I wince every time :winktongue:

I've driven in pretty much most weather conditions, except a hurricane and tornado.

I find driving in the dark to be the most frustrating. As was mentioned, add rain and forget it!

Doesn't help that the road I travel is only two lanes and very winding.

Re rain n' dark, I haven't lived in urban/suburban areas in 25 years. I've lived out in the country. BUT I'm in the Mid-Atlantic, the Eastern Shore of MD, so we still have the fiscal benefits of being part of the so-called Northeast Corridor as if we WERE urban/suburban. All the roads are paved well (in my tri-county area) and EVEN the 2 lane country roads frequently have paved shoulders wide enough to pull completely out of the lane(s) and change a flat safely ON FLAT ASPHALT! :winktongue:. So with the population density so low and the roads so good rain isn't my concern - its the durned BUGS!

Yeah we do, we had first snow this weekend, not we exactly but at my grandparents which live 3km from us and 300m higher there was some snow. We are expecting it more in January and February :)
Nice thing about Slovenianis that you are so close to everything, I'm centrally located so I have 1 hour to mountains and 1 hour to coast. If only we were able to make money of that, apart from few exceptions lot of managing of tourism seems to be stuck in socialism.

Well you are welcome here, Ljubljana is quite nice place although it can be a bit to peaceful sometimes. Although from UK to Slovenia to Finland it would be quite a long drive

Budapest is on our list for next year. West and south France possibly.

Would like to go to Croatia and other countries around there.

Need to go to Finland to see family.

There's a slight possibility of my mother coming to visit.

Would like to go to go somewhere in Italy.

It's not too bad but I see your point.

Thing is driving to places is nice as you see more.

I think before we do a long road trip again I'd like to get a BMW again. The Citroen is OK but not for that level of driving.

For that amount of driving car with radar guided cruise control would be great, just not sure if it's in your price range.

The length of driving isn't really an issue. I've done some long distance driving in the past. Having a good car is what's important.

The plan in the future is to get a Series 2 or 4 BMW just won't happen this year, have other priorities.

It's been a while since I was on the east coast of the USA. I've been to Baltimore and Washington DC in Maryland. (I know Washington DC is it's own district)

Yeah you get a few bugs in that area. I generally don't like bugs while driving either.

I'm not a fan of unpaved roads either, I've been on a few with various cars. However, my least favourite road is by far the single lane, two way ones here in the UK with hedgerows on either side. They're scary during the day and at night they're plain frightening.

It's actually where Bill Nye the Science Guy got his start. It's a Saturday Night Live type show that was popular in the Northwest in the late 80's and early 90's. :)

Just because I want to. Here's a picture of the local pier at low tide. It's in the process of being renovated.

Nothing done to the picture.
