Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So here's how I'm standing with my college apllication.

To enter the college I want (which is by the way, along with the medicine, the toughest one in my country) I would need at least 80 points in total, out of 100. This is what it means.

You can have a maximum od 60 points from highschool. Averages and key subjects are what counts. I'll have around 53 points, which is not that bad, but again, not so great.

I believe I can score 30 of out 40 points on the entrance exam, minimum. I've completed exams from the previous years and they weren't that tough.

If it goes like this I'll be accepted and have a free scolarship. By the way, I'm already in, since I have enough points from the highschool, what I'm aiming for now is the free scolarship I just mentioned.
Good luck. Go in and secure that scholarship.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'll explain. Most countries have similar systems to what I'm about to explain but some countries may be different.

General Immigration (non EU)
Usually starts with a visa of some sort. Student, skilled (work falls in here), partner or general (meaning you applied for visa and you may not get it)

Once you are accepted for a visa you have a time limit in which to 'accept it'. Meaning you have to move to the country. This is typically a year.

Once in the country, depending on the type of visa you entered on you have several avenues to permanent residency and then citizenship. This is usually after a period of time in the country.

Every country is different but typically about 4-5 years for permanent residency. You don't need to get citizenship but you'll need to renew your residency visa when it expires if you plan to travel.

Once you have permanent residency you the have a period of time before you can apply for citizenship. Again this varies for each country. Also what the country counts as time varies as well. For example if you were a student when you entered but met someone and then got a partner visa, the time as a student may not be counted towards your citizenship or permanent residency.

General EU Residency
As an EU citizen you don't need to get permanent residency or citizenship of that country. However, you do need to register with that country to let them know you're there. The UK system differs here slightly which is partially why they have the issues they do.

For a non EU married to an EU citizen (me for example) I can go with my EU partner to wherever they go. Once in that country I need to register with that country and this allows me to work. This is typically a 'Family Permit'. After 5 years I can apply for permanent residency in that country. Then after that I can apply for citizenship. Again time line and requirements for citizenship differs per country.

For countries not in the EU but in Europe you can apply for a workers permit which allows you to work and live in Europe. I'm assuming that there are restrictions on this type of permit and I'm not sure if there is a path to permanent residency.

That's as much as I know anyway.

So it's pretty much based on how much you've stayed. Got it.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I'm not very excited about 2017 phones so far. Guess we were spoiled last year with some killer options in that $350 - $500 range.

But, there's still time...

I believe Note 8 is going to be interesting. Overpriced, but interesting. Also, Apple's rumored to release a killer iPhone, that could be worth waiting for for a change.

But yeah, I agree. It's pretty much all the same. I'm not saying we're lacking good phones, those will be always present. To me, it's not the 800$ flagships that are catching the most of the attention anymore.

I'm more curious about the new Honor, the new Xiaomi Mi 6 or seeing if ZTE is going to release a new Axon. That's kind of stuff that's worth the attention, at least to me.

And yes, OP has let me down. They've stopped being affordable since 3T.

I'm in a desperate need for a haircut, but I just hate asking for the car keys. And the bus is not an option. I'm liking the idea of welcoming Eid with this mess of a hair more and more.

I agree with you. We'll see. If I remember correctly, those phones (more so the Honor and ZTE Axon) released in this season, so we will see.

I'm sure we'll here about the Mi6 here at some point. As for the others, we'll see.

As much as people shat all over this phone, the G5 for $200-$250 on Swappa is a hell of a lot of value for small coins.

I had the g5 and it was perfectly acceptable I found. I grabbed a second battery so could just flip them out which solved that issue for me. Good battery life, good camera, no real issues.

New Honor is already coming, not sure about the Axon, but they'd be crazy if they don't release another one from the series soon.

Didn't you own one? Or were you just planing to but ended up not buying it? Ugh, can't remember. Anyway, for 200$, it's a killer deal.

Speaking of phones, the A3 is not even on it's way to me. Considering it's coming straight from Samsung, I thought it'd be here days ago.

If I were to buy a phone right now, out of all the available ones out there, my first pick would be Honor 8. That is a beast of a phone. I saw the photos it takes, man they are great, I'd dare to say almost as good as Galaxy's.

I also wouldn't mind having Mate 9.

Sup gang! Just checking in, hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats to MIA and Shu! (I saw your status updates)

As for me, SSDD...

I had my gaming rig go down a few days ago. :( the old original first gen "Bloomfield" i7 920 finally bit the dust. It's either that or the X58 motherboard... but I don't have a spare CPU to test the board with, nor do I have a spare socket 1366 motherboard to test the processor with, but it's one of the two, or both!

I left it running idle at the desktop the other day, and came home a few hours later to find it frozen/locked up. I attempted to reboot it, and it went into a pre-post boot loop, never making it past post beep. I tried everything with the memory sticks; one at a time, in different slots, pulled the motherboard to breadboard it on the desk... nothing :(

I guess it's been well over due to upgrade anyway. So now, since I'm extremely poor and won't have the money to buy anything anytime soon, I've got plenty of time to do some research and homework on what I might upgrade to. I'm really hoping my GTX970 and my PSU are still ok!

I've been looking at the new Ryzen 1600 CPU. It looks like it packs a lot of bang for the buck. Either that or a comparable i5. Either one should be a substantial upgrade over what I had.
