I'm very uninspired and disinterested in getting a secondary device right now. I've got 4 options to handle the situation and while all are really good, it all feels like "meh".
So I've decided. LG is still the daily driver. Went the V35 route a few moments back and picked something refurbished. Doubt I'll be able to unbrick the V35 for a while.

I decided to stop fighting the changes and go a size up, as much as I don't want to. The discerning know what LG I picked up. I'll have it after labor day (unless it shows up Thursday) as we are by the gf's mother for the upcoming holiday. I'm hopeful to get one in decent shape as I was pretty lucky with the V35. There was an XZ3 in good shape I almost got instead. I ultimately picked the LG as that was the 64/4GB RAM variant of the XZ3. Outside of a Pixel 3, I'm not using a phone with less than 6GB RAM as my daily driver.

What I will take from the V35 experience is that utilitarian retro approach. Throw a skin and a hard slim case on it and go forward. Since I picked up a dreaded carrier variant, I'm not going to cross flash to debloat it. Likely will get used until it breaks. I'll look to add the business phone in November, so there's time.

In the interim, it's the Mate 20 Pro and the S3 classic.

Casual snaps of a very nice day here in NYC - normal, wide angle, 3x and 5x zoom.

The GF wants to go out for dinner, so 5 Napkins it is. She's in a burger mood, so I won't fight that, as they do solid vegan burgers that she likes. IMG_20190824_151128.jpegIMG_20190824_151132.jpegIMG_20190824_151140.jpegIMG_20190824_151144.jpeg

I do like some of the stuff Huawei has done with the Mate 20 Pro (and I guess the P30 pro this year). Still, give me an LG device with that beastly manual mode.

I think once Rue finds the sweet spot with the X 1, he'll like some of the things they've done with their manual mode too.

I just bought a Leo on a whim. Lol.

Well, the price was unbeatable ($25). If everything runs good, I'll put it up for the collection. The HTC HD2 (Leo) has literally run every OS since launch. I thought I even saw iOS on it at one point.

Minor smartphone update from India.
People love Android (cheap, good variety at $150 price point). Tons of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo phones.

People love using the less secure FaceID. My brother's Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 unlocked with my face lol. And yes we look like brothers but not that similar to fool a face unlock feature.

Cameras from Chinese device makers at this price point punch way above their league.

A free standing dome (no internal reinforcements or suppprts) built in the 21st century using old world techniques.

My brother's friend is a specialist in these. The sound amplification in the center of the dome is amazing and so is the echo effect.

The Last Emperor, good move. I almost pulled the trigger on one recently, I’m debating between a Leo and a Moto ES400. Love me some WinMo.
