Current audio setup - a ZVOX 555 sound bar.

My plan is to not get a full 5.1 system right away but to to replace the ZVOX 555 with a 2.0 setup involving Klipsch floor-stand speakers. Then later on adding the center, surround units and subwoofer.

Is there anything wrong with this approach other than I won't be able to take advantage of 5.1 DVDs until I have the full setup?

I see no reason why not do it this way, the only thing is when you are done your going to say I should have done this sooner. Sounds like you got yourself some nice floor speaker klipsch there great. I went JBL years back, the best is the powered subwoofer is fantastic I forget the# they no longer make this one. Anyway good luck with your choice.

If I were you I would shoot for at least a 7.1 surround sound setup to fully take advantage of blu-ray,HDTV and the like. A 2.0 sound bar is fine for DVDs because most of them can simulate a 5.1 surround sound environment.
