    For those who don't know what this is, it's a Timex Sinclair 1000, circa 1982 first 'home' computer.
    Ah, a ZX-81 variant. Did you have the RAM Pack attachment?

    My dad had the ZX Spectrum, upgraded to 48k. I had the ZX Spectrum +3, developed by Amstrad, which had a disk drive built in.

    The Spectrum was developed here in the UK in Cambridge.

    No, only had the base model I believe. Was way too expensive for extras.

    Same here the extras were expensive and rare even in the UK.

    I don't know if any of you know this but Chris Curry used to work for Sinclair before founding Acorn, the guys behind the Atom, BBC Micro (known as the Proton), the Electron, the Archimedes, RISCOS and the ARM processor architecture.
