My dad use to make ketchup from tomatoes in the garden when I was very young.
We used to eat ketchup sandwiches.
He also loved Limburger on crackers with Mogen-David concord port wine...my mom wouldn't let him keep the Limbirger in the house because of the smell.

That's it...or close.
I think my dad and mom used to keep it in a decanter.
Very potent, my parents never ever over did it tho...reserved sippers you might say.

Pops used to have a couple of these Saturday night too:

The good old days before poptops!

Both the Hamms and Beckers can pics show rust on the sealing rings.
Who would have thought to keep vintage full beer cans around for photographic posterity.

From my last visit to Turkey/Istanbul. I forgot what the name was, but for me it's "The plate of joy". It was delicious, like everything else we tried.

It was a great weekend of weather and that means I got out and about. :)

So my weekend in food. :)

First, lunch at Judges Bakery in Hastings. That's a vegetable Scotch egg. The sandwiches are made from in house bread. One is chicken and bacon on white the other is ham and tomato on rye.

Next up is dinner in Rye.

Here I had fish and chips. Though a little bit fancy. Local caught cod. The pub we ate at was great.

Desert was chocolate cake (lighter than it looks) with lemon ice cream and balsamic strawberries. Very nice.
