my first was an audiovox analog phone. I coulda got the digital phone for 50 bucks more but there was really no reason to. the fanciest thing my phone did was a pixelated "Hello" when i turned it on.

Nowadays Windows Phones are the only phones in the world which say goodbye when you turn them off :)

My first phone was a Motorola MicroTAC 5200 which I bought way back in 1994, when I got my first job. I also bought the extra capacity battery which probably made the phone about 7 or 8 cm thick, all in all, but on the other hand you got about 6 days stand-by time (as far as I recall). Those were the days. :)

Motorola d160. It was heavy like a brick and it looked like big stone with battery size of 4 AA (you could use AA batteries if you wanted).
