Could someone please explain the term "Singularity" for me? Seems like it's used all over the place these days.

What kind of singularity are you referring to?

Singularity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The simplest definition however is this:

It's a point in either the past or future where things are uniform (combined).

The big bang is considered a singularity event.

There is a technological singularity where people believe that humans and tech will combine into one with the advent of artificial intelligence.

There are other singularity events thought possible but I hope that helps.

there are 6 singularities. They were in existence even before universe came into existence. ya, big bang are considered as effect of six destructive singularities.

That didn't really explain anything....

No offence I hope. They were asking what a singularity is not when one occurred or their effect.
