So today in facebook I saw someone posting a picture today. The picture was of Bill Gates and there was a quote written in the picture saying "Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. - Bill Gates".

So in the comments section I saw someone asking this question "If Bill Gates really said that then why did Microsoft create and is still creating a large number of unhappy customers?"

If you encountered this personally, what would be your response?

Well for starters you can't make everyone happy. Any choice you make will be a disappointment to some specific group of users. The best any one can do is take all the negative feedback and do their best to implement change.

That comment is so vague that it is not feedback so you can't even begin to take action on it. Windows 8 did not have a great launch in many people's eyes and 8.1 has barely made it better. There are still a huge chunk of users who hate live tiles and continue using Windows 7. Windows 10 seems to be shaping up to be the compromise or halfway point to that, but even then there will be people that refuse to upgrade (even if it is free). Microsoft won't know what to do until they get to that point and see what the issues people have at that time are.
