Not new hardware but I decided to forego my usually gaming mouse and switch back to the Microsoft Sculpt Comfort Mouse.

microsoft_sculpt_comfort_mouse_left_2013-100038805-large.jpg

It has the Windows button on the side which can be customized for up to three functions, but doing so requires the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. It's pretty dated software; a Windows 8 metro feel. Nonetheless, it gets the job done and allows for customized actions for each button. I set it to swipe down to go back, swipe up to go forward, and then I did a custom keyboard shortcut to close programs (ALT+F4). It's pretty convenient being able to close anything with the touch of a button. I can even pull up the computer shutdown option if I press the button from the desktop. I also customized a button on my keyboard to activate Cortana. (sadly, it doesn't but her in listening mode)

RE-EDIT:

Changed the middle mouse button to CTRL+W to the active window. It makes a world of difference. Now it's even easier to close folders/browser tabs since I don't have to shift my thumb to the Windows button. Then I changed the Windows button to ALT+F4 to close programs when I'm done.
