Anyone remember “Odyssey”? The first Microsoft Excel!

It was the code name for Microsoft Excel. When its development began in Oct 1983, it was focussed on PC and not on GUI. But by 1984, Microsoft decided to go all out in support for GUI and decided to launch the first Excel on Apple Macintosh and then ultimately on Windows!

So when I hear the news of Microsoft deploying some of its newest technology and software first on non Windows OS, I am not surprised. This has been a trend with Microsoft. They are ultimately a software company and they need the latest hardware out there to test their software. But that in no way means that Microsoft has forgotten Windows. They cannot even if they want to!

I've heard of it, but don't really know too much about it. At first I thought it was a codename for an OS or something haha

I never knew there was an easter egg in Excel '97..

Indeed there was. I remember trying it out a few times to see the flight simulation on an alien landscape.
Just bing/google it for the steps but apparently it doesn't work on other versions of Excel.
