There was a time when at least 2 out 10 articles were related to leaks about new products and features. It seems the leaks have dried out. It's it because Microsoft has become really smart in hiding their secrets? Or is it because of some mutual understanding between related parties to not let out the secrets?

Think Microsoft's past history of not following through, or a change-of-direction while in the midst, might be playing a roll here. If it happens enough times (which it has) people soon lose trust and interest.

    Hard to say.

The Surface Book came out of left-field, but I'm honestly going to say that there isn't much to leak in the first place.
