Storing vacation photos on SkyDrive (partial nudity?)

Since partial nudity is not allowed on SkyDrive, will storing beach photos (people in swimsuits, trunks, etc.) lead to an account suspension? Has anyone heard of such things happening?

I am having a hard time understanding your question. You're talking a person in a swimsuit correct? If they're clothed I see no reason why they would be banned.

Wouldn't a woman wearing a swimsuit or a man wearing swimming trunks be considered partially nude?

Can't make that decision without seeing the evidence. If you have questions about women, post them here or send them to me PM and I'll give an educated guess! Hope this clears up your question.

I guess it's not worth fretting about, but all those articles about SkyDrive being overly restrictive made me think twice before uploading anything there.

MS has already stated that they don't care about nudity in your personal Skydrive folders. They only care about nudity in shared folders.

Exactly. I once shared photos with my girl and a warning was associated with the offending files. Curiously, and fortunately, I wasn't banned. It just did not share the photos. I have since deleted the link and handed my girlfriend a USB drive.

I have stored nude pictures, your know, nude normal ones, not like porno porno ones... and i never got any warning and my account banning. of course they were full nude pictures and showed alot.... and nothing, I even did the sharing thing and nope. no warning, so it happens sometimes and sometimes it doesnt... but swimwear and that stuff is not nudity or something.

wasnt easier to zip them and share them that way? I dont know why people do all these things to share their files, its not like Microsoft can get in Zip files and more if they are encrypted.
I mean... there is a reason movies and music and games are shared around the world in places like Radpishare and such, because they rar/zip them usually with a password and end. you could have done the same in skydrive. give the link and you dont need to give anyone a usb drive... you pervy dirty human being.

I believe that's because they only use an automated scanning tool to try and detect that sort of thing, so obviously it doesn't catch everything (and sometimes there's false positives too).

Their policy might have changed but I remember back in 2009 when Skydrive was getting noticed I opened up the account to upload, store and keep track of the international photography entries for the photography biennale 2010. There were hundreds of entries and only two had woman bare breast showing. One was very abstract and highly processed photo to mimic human made out of dripping wax and the only way you could tell there were areolas was due to the color. The other one was about human trafficking and had bare breast model in underwear showing up transparent over some dark and scary closed environment.

Lucky me my account didn't get suspended until biennale was done and all the entries were processed and catalogued but it did get suspended. Official response from MS was images containing nudity. I tried to reason with them that its art photography for world renowned international photography exhibition but they couldn't care less. They unlocked my account by removing all the pictures I had uploaded, clean slate. This led me to believe they had some algorithm implemented looking for nudity cause there was no chance in hell someone would bother with melted wax woman like face and torso or transparent topless lady to flag it as offensive.

Moral of the story we switched to SugarSync. And then we switched to Synology.
