Hi all. I have a few pictures in my OneDrive I want to download to my phone so I can use them as rotating wallpapers. I've not had any problems with this kind of thing before, but every time I try to download a picture, it comes up with the loading notification then after a minute or so says "download unsuccessful." I've tried downloading to various different folders on my phone with no luck.

Does anyone know what's going on?

    wp 8.0/8.1 or 10?

Temporary solution (the longer way ): Connect your phone to your laptop or PC (wherever you have installed the onedrive dektop application), drag and drop the files you want to the folder in your phone and voila

I think it's a common problem with the WP (8.1) OneDrive app and cellular data. I myself started a thread here about it on 03-29-2015. And I also noticed another thread by akthelonelyman from 04-29-2015 asking about the same problem. Both threads are here in the Windows Central OneDrive forum. I can't yet post links, so I just give the description.

Generally what works for me is to use WiFi instead of cellular data. Then all OneDrive uploads and downloads work.

For pictures I can also use cellular data. But not through the OneDrive app. Instead, open "Photos" -> "Albums" -> "OneDrive" -> "OneDrive Albums" and navigate to the pictures you want to download to your phone there (I think on OneDrive the pictures have to be in the "Pictures" folder or subfolders of the "Pictures" folder for this to work). You can individually download pictures to your phone by opening a single picture and pressing the "save" button. As far as I can see there is no option in the photo app to select and download multiple pictures at once.

I am by the way using a virtual network (MVNO) where I have to turn on data roaming, i.e., national roaming, in order to use cellular data. I have not yet had the chance to check if that causes the problem, i.e., if cellular data OneDrive uploads/downloads would work on a non-roaming connection.

Finally, someone else expressing the same problems! All I know is the following:

    1) Its not a problem with WP (I'm on Android)

    2) I can download pictures from all other sources on the web EXCEPT OneDrive. It can't download pictures (or videos) EITHER on the Mobile Site OR App!

    3) WiFi OR Cellular makes no difference

    4) (I CAN download an office word document though)

    5) Based on 1 and 2: Its not the Phone, Its not the App, Its on OneDrive's server... THEY DID IT! Case Closed

    MY WORK AROUND (WITHOUT PC):
In the App: Instead of Save Option try to Share it. It let me download the picture for this purpose. I then shared it through another App (I used Evernote, but it should work with anything in theory - Email etc). Once shared with this other App... Bingo! go get/download your image through that App!

Hope this helped. Hope One Drive gets this fixed!
