Am I right in assuming that I produce my own system backup / disk image, and then just hand it off to OneDrive to store as a single file?

Phone backups are automatically uploaded to Microsoft servers. As such, you will not see it on OneDrive, it does not count towards your OneDrive storage allocation and there is no file size limitation.

He is talking about system backup and disk images here. I doubt that he is talking about phones.
Also the onedrive phone backup is not really a backup more like a sync of settings and files. With a system backup I expect after a reset the system to be 1/1 the same as before the reset. by all means onedrive backup is nowhere near a system backup. loved that feature on Windows Mobile :(

Oops, sorry. Was busy on the W10M threads and missed that this was not mobile related.
