Need help understanding Onedrive

Hello,

Trying to understand one. Just purchased new laptop with not a lot of storage. I just want to up load files to OneDrive but not have them stored on my PC or automatic sync. Is this possible? I just want to be able to upload to one drive for periodic storage of new files. I would basically like to use as a portable hard drive.

You posted this six months ago and I'm guessing that you have figured it out by now. If not, have you tried just dragging your folders to the online onedrive folder you desire, using MS File explorer for starts? I am having trouble with the local sync, but no problems simply posting folders to be stored in this fashion. Sharing them on a mass basis is a bit trickier too, but should not be a problem for a single user.
