Simple question...what kind of battery is in the Venue 8 Pro? Lead-acid, Nickel-Based, or Lithium-Ion? And does it need a few good full discharges before charging regularly?

lol.

but anyways, all batteries in high-tech devices today are lithium-ion/lithium-polymer.
there are no mainstream smartphones/tablets who use Lead-acid, etc.
NiMH or NiCad batteries are seen in cordless phones, but not in smartphones etc.

don't worry about charging cycles, just charge it fully at first use and charge it as your convenience after that.
recommended a complete discharge/charge cycle monthly or so.

I think such gadgets jumped from replaceable batteries to Li-Ion (maybe a couple had NiMH or NiCad, but still, none today.)
