I am planning to buy either X1 Carbon (2017) or T470s. Here is my planned configuration: i7, 16gb RAM and 512 GB SSD. I am a developer who spends most of the time on Visual Studio 2015, 2017, Visual studio code and a few browser tabs.
I will have some sort of DB like SQL Server or Mongo DB running as well. No Gaming or photo / video editing. I am sure both these laptops are capable but would like to know how audible their fans are. I have read a lot about X1 Carbon being noisy. Has that changed in 2017 models?
